First of all, Fiverr has no obligation to give a reason - businesses frequently add and/or drop payment methods. Perhaps it was just too few Fiverr users who accepted bitcoin and the company just didn't want to bother.
If freelancers still want btc, they only need to move platform. People mention here XBT several times, go for that.
Frankly, it's a loss to Fiverr and this decision can't affect bitcoin long term - not that it ever has.

This is probably due to no chargeback issue. I see no other reason why would they stop using BTC.

I guess this is the reason, unlike paypal where users can charge back so decided to stop using Bitcoin as a security measure to stop scammers. This is probably due to no chargeback issue. I see no other reason why would they stop using BTC.

Now we can start to question if BTCBTCBTC's adoption is really growing, given their reason of 'Lack of interest.'

Now we can start to question if BTCBTCBTC's adoption is really growing, given their reason of 'Lack of interest.' One of the main attractions of using Bitcoin before the main chain was "throttled" was low transaction fees. By choking off the main chain, the developers are allowing a fee market to develop. Now that the fees are no longer small in comparison to traditional payment processors like Paypal, it follows that consumer interest would decline at the POS transaction level.

Fiverr no longer accepts bitcoin possibly due to the sudden volatility that happened a few weeks ago. It possibly made a bad impact to their business or they see it a threat to their profit and that is why they are erasing bitcoin as part of their payment scheme. But if many fiverr customers will combined together and ask them to bring back bitcoin then hopefully they will bring it back.

Wonder how much business fiverr will lose over this.
Is there a way to reliably measure?

This is a huge blow to Bitcoin users to as many of us. Use fiver for services and since they were accepting Bitcoins it was very useful. Though I feel this is a minor setback thanks to link given by op, I had first seen the site here on Bitcointalk.org and have browsed to it, it's looks nice and easy to use. Now will be using it more extensively. Guess this will soon over take fiver in the long run as most of btc users shall shift here.
Stop lying and making things up post after post just to get paid from your signature campaign. There was never a big interest in Bitcoin use with Fiverr. That is precisely the reason why they have stopped accepting Bitcoins.

Unless they're going to release their figures we wouldn't know.

I don't think they will lose the business because most of the people still they can use either PayPal or credit cards. This is probably due to no chargeback issue. I see no other reason why would they stop using BTC.
What kind of chargeback? Using bitcoin people can't charge back anything. What I think is if you use a bitcoin option and if you don't use coin base then the transaction will take few minutes to confirm or sometimes even more and I too face this issue. They might have received may support request about these transaction delay issues and thought it is not suitable for their business.

I have just got their email about this issue. It is really sad to hear about this. Fiverr can be considered as one of the biggest Bitcoin support and now they gone. Bitcoin will be affected a lot after this event. Hope that everything will be back to normal and there will be another merchant accept Bitcoin, perhaps it can be Amazon

You're right. Fiverr removing Bitcoin as a payment method will have no effect on Bitcoin. Fiverr Usage of bitcoin was minimal and thus, We have nothing to worry about it. One of the reason they gave was that , There was "Lack of Interest" From the freelancers as very little percentage of them took advantage of the bitcoin payment method. Well, Fiverr can add Bitcoin payment method again So I'm not entirely sure that they'll stop Bitcoin payments PermanentlyCurrently SEOclerks still use Bitcoin as a payment method and I don't see them stopping it anytime soon like Fiverr

When a company provides platform to freelance, they should take care of needs of people. Autocratic decisions are never good for site especially one like fiverr whose success totally depended upon members. Well! It is never easy to adapt bitcoin in business because of its volatility!

Comparatively bitcoin is stable, it just showed some peak but not fallen beyond its previous progresses. I guess I do not find any big differences with fiverr's this sudden policy change as they were not paying me in bitcoins. Only business people was able to buy gigs through bitcoins, not members did get paid in bitcoins.

bitcoin can still strive without that payment option on fiverr after all you can just outsource people(if your'e hiring) then talk with them if they want bitcoin as a payment then or get bitcoin as a payment if your working I think your client would find a way to pay you bitcoin if your valuable to him and also if hes interested in bitcoin too.

I'm sure that Fiverr just did not have enough users who use bitcoin as a payment. I guess they did the higher cost of maintenance. Price of bitcoin, has not too much important because he immediately changed to Fiat money. You pay $5 and no matter how it is in bitcoin. also excuse that bitcoin is dead is for small children

I need to write a plugin for SMF that provides users with an "I'm only writing this fluff to get my signature displayed" ignore option. Sometimes, I get halfway through the post, then realize it's just a bunch of random thoughts strung together. I would sell it on Fiverr, but they don't accept bitcoin anymore.

From the way I see it, its an unfortunate event happening at this point but I dont see the effect being obvious because if it had been, I am sure the news would have been all around town being the reason for the fall in the price of bitcoin. At the same time, Fiverr represent the largest site for freelancing and if they say they are not accepting a currency, I guess there is nothing we can do about it only for us to look for alternatives to do freelancing jobs.

Yeah, it is bad that they stopped accepting bitcoins. I used to order couple of articles per month for my blog from Fiverr and some SEO services, always used bitcoins on Fiverr, no Paypal or debit or credit card. They did charge around 10% for bitcoin deposits, do not know why they suddenly stopped accepting bitcoins. I do not think it would affect them in any way, but for users like me it is a bit disappointing, still XBT is there

Fiverr are total moral policemen, I recently saw the PewDiePie video where he makes a joke about jews or some other shit, and he and everyone involved got banned.
I think Fiverr doesn't really like Bitcoin, they hate anything that doesn't comply with the state, laws, and total control. You can expect more services dropping bitcoin support overtime.
