Need help with graphic card - is it broken?

Hello guys!

I am just new in bitcoin topic, as well in graphic card hardwares, so please feel free to explain even "dumb" things.
The point is I got a new graph card from XFX 7970 a GHz edition. It was installed on ASUS P5Q SE2 mainboard (PCIe2, only one card on it).
Miner is Phoenix 2, Win7 64 bit. Previous graph was nvidia.
The speed was around 450-470. I think it was too low for such a card, so I started to look for information how to increase velocity. I found some description were it was strongly  recommended to use AMD APP SDK software and library OCL version 11.11(so previous version of it).
In this time I was looking for info, the computer was running with 1 GHz GPU, 900 MHz memory speed and at around 70°C (according to catalyst->overclocking menu). So as I came back I saw, that the comp was restarted automatically. I switched it again and it was not possible to run Phoenix. Some messages were there that something was not found. I deleted
[cl:0:0] from configuration file and put autoconfig=true. Then it started again.
After that I installed that AMD APP SDK software and library OCL. And after that it was impossible to run anything (mining). Reinstallation of all "standard" drivers and catalyst softwares did not help.

If I put [cl:0:0] it starts with CPU. But also with 0 speed.

Did I brake graph card or is it a software problem? Appreciated for any help or hint.

Try delete phoenix 2 directory and replace it with the original downloaded files - it has compiled library files so you will force phoenix to recompile them

Tried it, almost same results.
It considers [cl:0:0] as CPU. At autoconfiguration it starts now to work with 2.6 MH/s (CPU). Previously it did not work with CPU as well.

I go back to Bitminter to test if something is up as I know it will always work. If I get no work out of a GPU it's time to take it out and reseat it and check for power issues. Nothing you've said above points to me (at least) as hardware.

2013.04.16 [17:24]  Lacking OpenCL support. If you want to use GPUs, please install the latest drivers from your graphics card manufacturer.

honestly for good easy mining i would go with guiminer.

take your time and do your research with phoenix is the only way to go. it takes time and experimentation, there isn't a guide for these types of things.

i hope you learn quickly and are able to optimize your hashing speed sir. i wish i could help more.

did you try to check if gpu properties are correct? did you try to put the card in a linux based PC? Search the system properties as well.

Since I assume you are mining LTC over BTC since profitability is better.

Seems it is not working...

from this it seems the opencl bug has found you. to confirm this find CPU-Z on google download and it should open with an error if it does try uninstalling everything ATI drivers APP packs the lot and then reinstall with just the ATI driver which includes the APP packs should sort it out

by unistall i mean the proper way with the add remove that goes through the ATI software

I solved this problem! Everything is working now!
The problem was in software, not hardware. Once more for information to everyone:

Problem: during mining the computer restarted by itself and after that the kernel of the graphic card (wich supports openCL and is essential for mining) was not found. So no mining was possible with GPU. This problem (absolutely identical) I had with two differnet graphic cards: XFX 7970 and HD 5750.

Solution: complete deinstallation of all ATI drivers by this official AMD tool:
support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst13-3WINBetaDriver.aspx

And after that new installation of drivers.
