Towards the ending of last year a prediction was outrageously made by Saxo Bank which says the price of bitcoin will sky rocket to $2100 which we did experience some huge increase in the price of bitcoin acouple of days after the prediction was made. Soon we had a situation in China which make some people loose their trust in future of bitcoin cos they think a government of any country could do something worst in the future. But with the huge trust in bitcoin we had from people of Japan,Africa,America etc we had some sort of increase in price this days.

The question is could bitcoin still skyrocket to $1000 - $2,100 as predicted?

There is chance for anything in the world to happen. No one can predict what is going to happen to Bitcoin. There definitely is a chance for the price to go up to around $2000. But something big needs to occur if this is going to happen. Even where it is now, around $900, is a great price. At least it is stable and not jumping up and down often.

But if something big like a new country accepts Bitcoin, or a new Bitcoin bank is released. Anything of that sort which would make Bitcoin get into the news would be great for the price.

Mine is it peaks at $1113 for the year 2016 and then dumps in Jan 2017. 

 

It is not actually a "prediction" if you wrote it amidst the biggest pump going on. A prediction would be something you wrote far before pump of 2016 even started.

Actually PBOC is doing the right thing to curb Chinese bitcoin exchanges and place some well needed regulations.
They operated for years by profiting from margin trading, using fake volume, let speculators trade with borrowed money and were using baits of 'zero fees' to entice price volatility.

my prediction bitcoin could be skyrocket in the amount you mention it but we need times before its happen and need good movement from the market. i don't know what will happen with the chinese new year will give impact for bitcoin price, but if there is bad impact so we should be ready to save our money first because now the price is getting down.

I’m not sure that if the price reached that level I would say it skyrocket, don't get me wrong I will be very happy but bitcoin doubling its price is not what I consider skyrocketing, probably it will need to reach something between 5x to 10x before I consider it has skyrocket.

The bitcoin price reached from 750 to 1150$ in the span of one month. So would you not call it sky rocket ? Tell me any other currency or Gold or Oil prices which has gone up so fast in so less time.  For me  Bitcoin is Sky rocketing these days.

Why its not possible. You see the price chart after price dump again bitcoin value is increased and now it crossed 900$ and more. However, we do not able to find big pumps like last year but still price value will increase like every year. Please have a hope on it buddy.

There is no doubt we can reach that amount someday. How long will it take to take us there is the proper question. There are still a lot of things that should be fixed with bitcoin right now. Though the price is still moving upward, There will be a time it will be halted due to the issues bitcoin is facing like scalability and confirmation time. Once these issues are solved, we will see the price skyrocket. But that may still take a lot of time before this come true.

It's possible, the question is when and what the price will be. But that depends on many circumstances and indicators so it's hard to tell if skyrocket price is near or distant future. The price is more or less in the same framework these days and how will react in the future it depends on Chineese too.

price rise is possible and will be possible for the future as long as we reach the mass adoption and price becomes stable at a high price.

but don't expect overnight rises of 100%, or 80% rise any more. they are not possible as the market size grows. as we go forward the rises are also becoming smaller for example the 100% rise still happens but in 8 months for example.

The price can definitely make big increases if there is some great news that comes out or if there is manipulation. But the same can also happen in the other direction if there is bad news like tough regulations.

Let's not forget Indians, there're many people too and they are cornered by their goverment - Bitcoin is only mean of salvation for them

Bitcoin looks like an excellent escape route for a lot of people in several countries all over the world including India, but how are they going to access the bitcoins in the first place? They need dealers, they need to buy them first to move them. I don't see how they can do it without the infrastructure being built. With local black marketplaces the volume can never be big enough.

Saxo Bank often made crazy predictions in the past.
So take there analysis with a grain of salt.
But sure with Bitcoin everything is possible at any time.
However I always advice people to be less excited and not expect too much.This way disappointment won't be all that great if almost nothing happens.

It should and chances is really high. Just don't expect for it to happened later on. For $2,100 to achieved, it needs lots of dollar to be put in the bitcoin exchanges meaning all must do their part to take participate in the pump. There will be lots of price decrease that will happen while on the journey of reaching that price range since many will secure profits.

More importantly is the new bottom that will established every price rally for example today, around $900 is close to a new floor. If ever the price will increase again for let's say $1,500 then expect a bottom at around $1,200 as a correction price. Just a thought coming from my precious mind.

I think that anything is possible with bitcoin, this technology is making progress and no one can say where is the end.
