It's been 6 hours since I started a helix light for an amount of 200 USD and since then, the address now has 27 more confirmations, the main transaction is still uncofirmed and it says waiting for 2 confirmations on the status page. Am I screwed here or what's happening? I need the money really bad and it doesn't seem like it's working. Thank you any help is appreciated

"In a nutshell, the network works like a distributed timestamp server, stamping the first transaction to spend a coin. It takes advantage of the nature of information being easy to spread but hard to stifle." -- Satoshi

The network is under heavy congestion right now and there is around 55,000 unconfirmed transactions in the mempool. This means that it is requiring larger fees for transactions to confirm in a timely manner.

If you are using Electrum to send the transactions, I recommend enabling the Dynamic fees within Preferences so that it can choose accurate fees. You can move the slider all the way to the right to ensure that fees are high enough for quick confirmations.

You can try to accelerate your unconfirmed transaction at https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ and see if that helps speed up the process.
