Am I missing something or is the search function on this site really that bad?

Nearly every time I try to search something I get this message:

The last posting from your IP was less than 32 seconds ago. Please try again later.

On a web community composed of computer educated people is it really impossible to search for something within 34 seconds of executing another command on this site?

Do I really have to go to google and type  :

bitcointalk.org +_____

every time I want to find information about a subject on here?

It's a longer wait in between for newer members.

It's a load balancing thing. It's not impossible, people were doing it too often. Our server is strong like bull, but even a bull can fall to enough wounds from the matador.

Does this rate limiting extend to Jr. Members?  This is really annoying sometimes, especially when you have a typo in your search string and you have to sit there for a minute to be able to search the proper one.  It's doing wonders for my lazy typing that Google's auto-correct has encouraged for so long...

I think it scales, with each rank getting progressively less limiting.

But stills a lot, to me it's 10 seconds, and the search engine sucks.
