This article has nothing to do with "online gambling". In fact, those two words don't appear anywhere in this article.

That said, the article is still interesting but probably not news for anyone. The conference this talk occurred at is legit - sponsored by a large global investment bank. They talk about the increasing price of bitcoin as an important factor in keeping miners at the table, which in turn keeps the blockchain "protected". I get the sense the journalist doesn't really now how the blockchain's integrity is maintained. To my knowledge the number of miners has nothing to do with it.

Then the article talks about the risk China brings to bitcoin since they're responsible for a majority of mining activity, particularly in the Sichuan province.

Here's the book report the OP should have given us...still not sure where he got online gambling from.

In almost all countries of the world, bitcoin is not considered as a means of payment and means of the casino which accepts bets in bitcoins are not considered gambling, and therefore does not violate the laws and save on taxes. This theme will grow or governments will have to accept bitcoin.
