Burst is proof of capacity type mining coin. In order to mine burst you need a lot of storage space. What I can say right now is that if you want to invest say away from burst if you want to make profit. With current price of HDDs it's just not profitable. But if you already have like 50-100TB of storage go for it.

I know you are new here, so there is my general advice. Try to use search button, before you start a brand new thread for a single question, what is already answered elsewhere.
..and you immediately get some useful threads, for example this:
[ANN] jminer v0.4.6 - GPU assisted PoC-Miner for Burstcoin (BURST)
:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1170987.0
Native Burst miner [OSX] [Win] [Linux]

[BURST] First scrypt multipool open for business!

etc. etc.

And what kind of hardware do you have? Maybe you can try some CPU mined coins, or NiceHash Miner (combining CPU+GPU) to earn some coins.

The main BURST website haso everything you'd need, including links to videos to start mining. Community of the forums is also very helpful.
Regarding BURST mining in general...it depends on your expectations. I started with only 100 GB and have moved up to 12 TB. Process is pretty easy to figure out. But personally I think the green/eco friendly/low power HDD mining is great. Some people have big rigs, other are mining on their phone. Depends on your expectations and what you're looking to do with the coin (dump it or hold on for a bit).

You can make money with BURST with a lot less than 50 TB - just not a LOT of money.
1 TB of available space you already have is entirely practical.
I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

with 1TB he will earn (with current price) 1.22$ per month. Do you think that is in any way profitable or just worth losing 1TB of storage for ? I mean with that profitability you are just better off looking for nickels on street (and you will probably earn more in a month lol)

Everyone's different. Maybe he's looking to mine and hold. BURST's price hasn't exploded yet...but a year ago it was about 19 sats. This week it's been between 70 - 80 sats. Where will it be a year from now? 2 - 3 years from now?
Obviously the more HDD space the better though.

I get that, but If that is what OP wants to do he is just better off investing 15$ into BURST since that is the amount he would earn in a year if he would be mining it

Unless of course he has the HDD space available...then it's the cost of having your computer running.

If you have the 1TB of free space already why would you NOT class it as profitable?
Note that I'm not specifying "1 TB on a single drive", nor am I saying ANYTHING about if it is worth buying drives specifically for BURST mining (which I think is a waste at this time as there are much more profitable things you can do with the money, even buying the Seagate 8GB Archive drives with their VERY favorable MB/$ ratio would give a VERY VERY long payback).
By your own figures, that would be $1 and change that would not happen otherwise.
