What about Idea of shop in forum where members can buy access to image posting, avatar upload and other features?
It takes couple months to get 120 activity i would like to buy access to image posting and avatar upload.
I think bitcointalk.org would earn couple more bitcoins from it.
I am not suggesting to allow members to buy activity, rank or trust scores, but why not to make a shop allowing them to buy access to post images and upload avatar?
Extra money for development and servers would not be bad, right?

Also interesting idea would be to allow members to buy green vendor badge for couple hundreds, i have seen this in Alphabay Market Forums  at DeepWeb.
Would buy it also.

If you like the idea write vouch or that you agree, i think developers would implement it if at least 100+ members would agree with me.

Just think about it now hundreds of spammy accounts created just to rank them and sell.
If we allow people to buy features then signature spamming acount rate will decrease, then will be less demand for accounts because members would be available to get same value straight from the feature shop instead of buying accounts.

Limits for images posting are here to prevent spamming most of the time , avatars were used as an exploit to hack the forums at some point and that's why they got disabled and added again a few months back.

Theymos doesn't look like a greedy person to me otherwise he wouldn't spend a couple of millions dollars on developing a new forum software and he also wouldn't pay the moderators and staff members , not to mention that he could lower the price for the donator and VIP ranks but he choose to not doing so. If he decided to do nothing of the above its only because he see that the weekly adslot auctions are more then enough .

This is very similar to what I have previously suggested. I think some sort of automatic whitelisting for users who pay a small fee would be beneficial. Ie all posting restrictions were removed and you could post images amongst other things. I think it would also be a good idea to stop newbie accounts from posting in the marketplace or digital goods straight away because it's massively abused by scammers at the moment but people who paid the fee could have the ability to post in there straight away (these two-bit autobuy scammers aren't going to keep paying it everytime they have an account nuked). I have also suggested more donator ranks where people could donate for certain priviledges such as bigger signatures and the ability to have an avatar amongst other things. I think it would be wise to remove signature sizes from ranks because it just encourages farming and this at least would put a stop to that.

As I know, bitcointalk not complaining about lack of money. They earn enough money from advertisements.
But I can suggest other thing. If people want to do their businness on bitcointalk, like sell something on marketplace, they would need to pay fee for bitcointalk to get approval. As hilariousandco said, it would help to avoid scammers. Also, I think that if service owner want to start signature campaign on bitcointalk, they also would need to pay fee.

@hilariousandco : Good ideas but it seems that this isn't a priority for theymos anymore, adding more donators ranks was here for more than a year or more tho
@LTU : wouldn't recommend paying a fee to start a signature campaign even that it will not affect the real one but instead I recommend having an escrow or at least a manager is a must...
