Build a consistent system

Hello all,

How do you build and run the most stable consistent system?  So far I have random crashes, random lag, my hash speed suddenly decreases by about 200 and stays there until I do something.... Any ideas?

1 or many GPU ?

Windows or linux ?

Dedicated miner or you also use it ?


did you overclock ?

did you check your temperature ?

did you remove the side panel of your case ?

did you undervolt ?

3 7950 sapphires. Slightly undervolted, clock 1025 mem 1480. Dedicated ltc miner. And I literally built it in a laundry basket so temps range from 70 to 75ish

Windows as well :/ is cgminer more reliable?

I had a gigabyte 7950 and it would throw hardware errors and crash after 10 min. This was a brand new card. So, I RMA'ed it and got a Sapphire 7970. The Sapphire runs perfectly out of the box.

My advice to you is to swap out your components one by one starting with the video card. Eventually, you will find a combination that is stable.
