Ripple is one of the cheapest crypto's out there. With one of the highest market cap. Secondly its the most marketed crypto too. The only problem with ripple is inflation. What do you guys think about short term and long term return on this crypto.

Deal for ripple means that they will give them some free XRP. So just add to inflation.

There is 100 billion XRP, but only 36 billion so 1/3 is out yet. They have plan to give all out in next few years. I dotn think price will go up much in next years because of that. It mainly fall down last 2 years.

But this is not Ripple main problem. Ripple main problem is centralisation.  It is run from one center and not like Bitcoin or most other crypto from many nodes. That makes it vulnerable. If governments see danger in Ripple will close them. No one can close Bitcoin.

You may not remember e-gold. e-gold is what many consider as a step to Bitcoin. Understanding it for sure helped Satoshi to make Bitcoin. e-gold problem was that was centralised. In 2005 their office was closed by USA government and they get under investigation. a year latter all charges was dismissed, but since they were closed for 1 year they never been able to get back so successfully as before.  If they would be somehow decentralised,  no one could stop them. They could file charges, e-gold would still work in mean time and after charges would be dismissed no big harm would be done.

Ya. I bought it a bit ago. Sold it within a day. It smells like scam. I don't even know why Poloneix have them listed.

word scam is here way over used.
Ripple is not a scam it is centralised crypto, that is given for free to those that are building infrastructure for them. So here you have answer why are on Poloniex. Ripple labs paid them with Ripple. And only 1/3 is given out so far, that means  that it is a bad investment.

I can't see how ripple could have better returns as a investment over bitcoin honestly.
It's market cap is so high if I want more risk it's better to look at smaller alt coins.
and for more security better to just get bitcoins

Definitely bad investment, and if one day becomes interesting for use,  you will be alway able to buy it even cheaper than now. So forget it for now, there is so much better investments at this moment. Don't lose your precious time on it.

Ripple has been in the market for a while and I think that it worth investing in XRP.

As far as a I know stellar holders (known as LUMENS or STR) will receive their "dividends" in ripple or ripple holders will receive STR.

It is really hard to trust and invest XRP nowadays for long time. But i think you can gain some money with short time trades if you can check hourly.

Hi believe this is one of the reason XRP is not listed in Coinbase.

I don't think XRP can be treated as an asset class.
