Is this world profitable?
Hello I am a student of computer engineering (IT), and I really know little about bitcoin ect. I wondered if indeed there were any interesting project that was worth the trouble to be improved or developed .. Obviously I do not have the technical knowledge and the appropriate experience to a solo project, so I hope someone clarify me the ideas and if I can direct to a good project / team!

As someone who's in IT you should be interested in learning more about BTC and the technology it runs on. It could have a lot of impact on the future of the IT sector. It's best that you browse around and look at ongoin open projects. You shouldn't be in it for the money but rather for the experience. Choose a project that interests you and offer to help out. Any compensation should be regarded as a bonus. Employers want to see what experience you have so best get as much of it as possible.

Other then checking bitcoin core Itself ? I would suggest looking into Lightning network which is a decentralized network that should allow instant and off chain transactions or there is TumbleBit which is a new payments protocol that gives us the ability to make anonymous transactions , more secure then they are now. Both projects are in the early stages and none of them are implemented on bitcoin yet.

You study at good college so you could learn about crypto currency rather quickly. You can meet many people here and get connected, who knows, maybe you'll make your coin one day, and it becomes next bitcoin . Anyway good luck with college, you made right choice, IT is really best choice for future career.

I agree with them, skip the economics of Bitcoin instead focus on the technical aspect, to make use of the experience and knowledge in due time. It is related to your course, so having an experience towards this kind of stuff and added in your portfolio will make it attractive to your future employer. You can try reading Bitcoin Whitepaper to start your journey here

I would propose to you first to learn some about bitcoin and blockchain technology and why not from a known university like as Princeton and free because is MOOC using Coursera platform. So you can enroll following this https://www.coursera.org/learn/cryptocurrency even though they are in the penultimate week if I'm not mistaken and to do the programming assignments which are implemented using Java. I believe, given that you study IT is one of the best because is a free and online, ways to learn many things about bitcoin. After that, you can research deeper and you will find many things if you are willing to deal with crypto currencies world.

thanks for the tips, All Precious.. I would like to clarify one thing, what are the profit margins in your experience? I think it is very interesting to investigate, but I'd rather do something useful and enjoyable. A return is able to motivate and to evaluate their own work..

First is to read and read and read. You knowledge is a scratch for now. While studying Computer Engineering as your college course, spend some time to research what cryptocurrency really is especially bitcoin. All information including the basics can be found in just 1 click away from Google search. That is really a long reading that's why can't posted here but I promise it will worth a shot. You may automatically know what to do now to take part in the world of cryptocurrency after some hardwork of reading and lots of efforts. Hopefully you will stay and will never found bitcoin as a boring one.

There is a ton of money to be made in the field of bitcoin, be it if you're a coder of if you're an entrepreneur wanting to start a bitcoin related business.
If I were you, I would suggest going to some of the innovations from the bitcoin community such as hard-wallets, exchanges, gambling sites, and so on and see if any of them would require services from someone like you that can code. Probably will be a highly profitable venture for you if you can code well.
Good luck bud, and welcome to the revolution!

Bitcoin could be profitable in many ways for people who secure to get in any form of Bitcoin business, you just have to have little entrepreneur spirit and knowlwdge. I thought at college like yours Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies is the obligatory subject by now where students should get some quality information. I'm surrprised to see this is not the case.

Maybe the mining process, I guess? Since the bitcoin mining requires a higher end PCs to mine bitcoin in a smooth way, then why don't you make a project about this thing, make a PC that can mine bitcoin or a hardware that can mine bitcoin like how higher end PCs or expensive hardware can do, but in a good price that anyone can afford. In this way, many people will mine bitcoin and bitcoin network would easily increase and bitcoins would grow everyday and money won't be a problem anymore to anyone, we can even help poor country when this happens.

Most likely its is not going to be hard for you to adapt the technology because as you said your an IT guy means your familiar to technology right? I suggest to you to research a lot about blockchain technology there is plenty of articles across the internet which will greatly help a lot for you to be enlighten about this technology and also try to attend to seminars that are related to bitcoin or cryptocurrency here in the Philippines we have those seminars and If you live in other country just do really some research I know there is a lot of seminars happening in every country you just have to find them and maybe you can find your team that will help you to have a good project !

if you have good skills then i believe you can make money employed. there's a lot of activity among certain companies. at the same time i also believe you can make more money elsewhere with way less risk. i don't think many or any of the legit crypto businesses around right now will still be around in a couple of years.
same goes for going solo. you can work easier and make far more money in more established areas. crypto is still figuring things out. great to keep a finger in in case of future success but i wouldn't go all in myself.

Though he's an IT student, he is new to such a technology. It takes some time to learn about it clearly and same as him very few IT persons have known about bitcoin. Possibly these people can make a better earning as lot of fintech service providers are in search of Blockchain developers to be recruited.

I expect that knowledge of the bitcoin technical properties, blockchain network and its possible application would be very useful on the job market in the future. It is rising technology and we already can see huge stir it caused. When you will learn it fast you can be one of the few developers taking the biggest share of the cake.

Not really nothing here to watch, just move on with your life. we already have a couple of thousands of such projects that you have in your mind, they are called sh*t coins sorry alternative coins in disguise of new technologies, coding platforms/smart contracts/DAO and such. We all know what happens when a coder/skillful person/scientist enters crypto, they want to be Satoshi and start a revolution but only to take their premine and or dev share and have their own perfect lives.
