Because we want to earn more and more. Gambling is just a matter of fate and luck. But the bad thing about gambling isa that when we lose we will trying to get back what we have been lose and deposit money again then we doesnt expect that we have been losing money more than before. Gambling is for lucky.

but the fact, there are no gamblers that can always earn in the same amount in gambling games but maybe a few of gamblers that can always win and no one can know when they are win or loss. the more we loss, the more we want to continue playing gambling and we are really serious in the games but if we realize that we can not always win, then we should stop while we can.

Yeah your right. I think the most reasonable that we still playing gambling is our emoticon saying that i need to get and recover all my losses but the fact is the money that we will use to recover it is have some chance to lose because of the 1% house edge and no one can determine it

That's pretty normal to every gambler as we are human but we need to learn how to control our emotion so it will not lead to another big problem which normally a big lose once we lost control. It's money that we are gambling and even one wrong decision would already cost us a lot so we should be careful all the time.

We are in fact human, unless you are something else, like a monster or something. It would just lead you to think that you can actually win. You cannot easily judge that a person who still gambles despite losing is already addicted or having a problem with gambling, there is always an exemption on that because there are people who are always looking for fun but they only spend what they can afford to lose.
Though we gamble to win but there are still more gamblers who are not desperate enough of winning and making money, entertainment is more important even if they lose.

I am addicted but I still have control over myself. Sometimes it is easy to control ourselves when we only play for fun however when we play for profit than it will be hard. Yeah i feel you mate me too the thing that i don't play more lessen in gambling is because i don't have some money to play for it even just a small but sometimes there's a time that i would play gambling but its just a limited because i sincere focus all my time in my family i don't want to afraid of them just being addicted in gambling and eating all my time just playing of it. I always have thought that this question is actually really easy to answer, maybe Im wrong but this thread pretty much has given me reasons to not think so.
Well, you need to remember that we are just human beings, nobody is perfect what means that you cannot avoid doing some mistakes through your lifetime.
Every human being has some desires, and in many many cases they are related to money, or wealth.
Gambling is something cruel for us in my opinion, because it makes us think that we are able to increase our wealth without any effort: but this is just a simple fallacy, the house edge will rip you off on long term every single time, if you won't stop in a good moment.

I think I can sum it up more concisely. There are two main types of gamblers:

1. Addicts: they just cannot stop gambling there is always the thought they can win it big. When they win they gamble more to win more. When they lose they need to earn it back. They can be classified as risk lovers.

2. People looking for fun: gamble on a sports game makes the game more exciting when you win, putting some money down in a casino when you are on holiday with the full expectations of a loss is fun too.

Number 1 can not walk away when they win (unless they have won so much) whereas number 2 can. The problem is a lot of people are number 1 when they in fact think they are number 2. However both 1 and 2 will keep coming back even though they lose money more or less every time.

I think it's more complicated than that - everyone is a bit of #1 and #2, it can depend on current mood and change from session to session. Some people can take wild rides that are common for addicts, but then stop for long time or gamble moderately, and then start betting wildly again. Others may only gamble for fun most of the time, but then make some surprisingly  crazy bets.

Well there are certainly people that fit purely in either 1 or 2, but yes a lot of people blur that line, especially if they gamble relatively frequently.

It is a common mistake in gambling but thats what make people want to keep playing including myself. I cant succumb to the temptation to gamble but instead of trying to destroy myself, I choose to play for fun that is why I wont have to worry about losing everything because the amount that I use is small
