I think the price will soon pump up to $2000. The rate at which the demand for bitcoin is increasing this days will make this happen. As at today bitcoin is trading above $1000 and I expect it to move up any moment from now. Fundamentally, bitcoin is good to buy now as the prices will still be going up except something technically happened along the way.

That depends on your definition of soon, if you are thinking bitcoin can reach that price in the next months then I don’t think that is going to be possible, but maybe in the next 5 years that price will be reachable.

I think it could happen, but maybe not. It might happen soon or could take a long time. Or it may never happen. That's what I think.

It will happen, when? We have no idea, we need some incentives for it first. What I have in mind is:
- favorable economic events in China, India, USA - basically every country which has any influence on bitcoin markets
- rise of bitcoin powered companies, startups, funds - for example projects like Winlevoss ETF should easily bring price to $1500 level
- lack of antibitcoin legislation

This price is achievable but how soon it's hard to say. No one of us doesn't have cristal ball to see the future. It depends on so many things on the market and on China too. To my opinion maybe it's too soon to expect 2000$ within the next few months but in some period during this year it might happen.

If it was to happen any time soon and at a rapid rate that you and more than half if not all the users on this forum would like to see it happen, would take all the power of top nations (USA/China/Russia/Germany) to agree on allowing blockchain into each and every economic system that they use and call it the Global Currency that it should be known as instead of just a cryptocurrency.
Is this going to happen any time soon? No. Because they do not want to give up on having their own countries currencies still hold value to their own citizens.
Atleast the UAE has accepted it as a currency and that is a start.

Once there is economic crisis like what was happened to greece when cash withdrawal being taxed
So people will move to bitcoin as the best alternative to store their value
And once there is big companies like google establish cooperation with bitcoin on their project like when ethereum with windows azure. $2,000 is near.

Why not? It can happen but it need to surpass first $1,200 - $1,500. If it was able to reach $1,500.

Then our hopes for it is going to be possible enough and we are going to be closer on its border.

where's the demand to make it double, and more importantly, stay there? i can't see much hype on the horizon. maybe an etf might do that. something major would have to change.

Yes, I think bitcoin will cross the 2000$ barrier soon. But i mean by soon is that in 6-8 months and not more than year. I believe that the price will increase more and more because nowadays many people trust bitcoin and this community will grow more after few months so automatically the price will grow up too.

Calm your self. We just barely touched 1000$. Let us first see if bitcoin can hold that price. Honestly, I do not want it jumping to 2000$. I want it to slowly rise and reach that price. If it just surges to 2000$, chances are, people will just start dumping their bitcoins and bag their profit. Then bitcoin will be down again. Let us take this one step at a time. 1200 first, then 1400, 1600, 1800 then 2000. I do not care if it takes another year or 5 years as long as it is a generic growth, it is fine with me.

Based on graph trend, it's difficult to reach amount since bitcoin value already on stable position.
Even at the end of this year , I think the value still less than $ 2000 but it surely over $ 1000

Looking out the current bitcoin price, it's upfront and near to touch $1000 mark.Yes,hoping that bitcoin will reach our destination in a short while.We need some patience. Personally store all my bitcoin in my wallet with safety.

i think its too soon to say bitcoin going to 2,000 $ because we should break many number before its going to 2,000$ and if we take a look in the charts, we still need more time to get increase. its better to break one by one first then the price will make stable position and then the price is jump again. we see now the price is about 1,010 $ but in hour ago, the price is in above 1,021 $ so i think its the time for down trend  and we can hope that after down trend, the price will go up again.

What do you consider as "soon"? If it is until the end of this year, I think plausible ... I do not think demand will grow that much so to reach that value before that. There's no point in reaching 2k and it takes a dump to come back to the beginning. You'd better go up slowly and keep from climbing fast and going down at the same speed.

In my opinion all the prediction about the bitcoin are only worst because bitcoin price not depend upon prediction but it depends upon the demand in the market .
Usually we seen in the past that the increase and down of the price of bitcoin was only due to the increase in demand ( during brexit and demonetization of money in India ) and when the price goes down then the reason was to bitcoiner banned by the one country ( in the 2-3rs month of 2016 I think it was Russia ) .
So all prediction about the bitcoin price depend upon the future plan of big bitcoin buyers and sellers .
And in my opinion the the price of bitcoin in the incoming one to two year can't exceeds from 1500$

I dont think soo that we would able to reach $2000 price on a short period of time or even on this year.Its possible but it wont happen now for sure it would really need more adoption in able to reach that price.I dont know whats the reason behind on sudden price increase of bitcoin and now we are currently on 1k mark which is really good to see again.
