Interesting development. I guess f2pool is interested in using Litecoin network to test the side effects of implementing SegWit on a network.
There is still this though :
Litecoin requires 75% of the network’s hashrate to upgrade for segwit to be activated. Currently, it is not clear whether it will be able to reach that threshold as some miners appear against it,
but it is not yet known whether that is more than 25%.
Yes there is that, but once f2fpool moves forward other pools likely will as well. Additionally, batpool a Chinese pool that is signalling segwit has been picking up hashrate.
Also the only pool actually asking their miners is getting a strong yes vote from those miners who have voted. Individual miners are definitely showing interest.
