I have an encrypted bitcoin wallet that was corrupted. What are the methods of getting it back? I tried running it through bitcoin core but it just gives an error message, wallet.dat corrupt, salvage failed. I have Windows 10, but the operating system it was created on was Windows 7. I recovered the file but it won't open. I can't figure out how to use pywallet. Is there an easy, simple way to recover the wallet? Is there some downloadable program that could fix it?

Be extremely careful if you're going to download anything to try and recover your coins. There are a ton of fake ones out there where the only purpose is to steal your coins.

Start Bitcoin Core with the -salvagewallet option. See https://achow101.com/2016/07/Bitcoin-Core-Troubleshooting#option-startup for help with that.

I tried the salvage option, but I keep getting an error message Method not found (code -32601). I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly. What exactly do I type?

You did not read the link I gave you. -salvagewallet is not a command that you enter into the debug console. It is a start up option (aka a command line option). You have to stop Bitcoin Core and then start it with that option. Read the instructions at the link I gave you.

I followed the instructions and got the error message wallet.dat corrupt, salvage failed. Are there any other methods of getting the private keys?

I can try recovering it for you manually however I can't guarantee it will succeed. Please PM me if interested.
