Maybe you need to put higher fees. So far all my transactions are pushing through within an hour or less. I usually just set it at a high amount like 0.0002 and don't really compute for it. Maybe you are placing low fees and that is causing the problems for you. You can also use the free tool at viabtc, if the fees are above 0.001 then they can accelerate your transaction for free.

I hate to break it to you, but it is starting to NOT become worth it unless you are doing larger amounts of money.. if it keeps up we'll be paying just as much if not MORE than the current banking systems amd places like WU will be HAPPY about it.

While I'm definitely now getting a vibe that something has to change, the only recommendations that I can really make right now are to start stacking larger fees onto transactions until something is decided upon by the community. If that can be done, then we might be able to get somewhere and figure out how to fix this.

Right now the 0.0002 fees sound like one of the best plans.

The miners have the power and it is in their hands now. They could go for a soft fork and activate Segwit or agree to do the hard fork and go for Bitcoin Unlimited, Classic or XT. Maybe they are waiting for Chinese developers to make a new implementation and go for that, who knows. Maybe Satoshi should have used a Chinese name instead.

That is still not an excuse sadly. This will not be good for the price and for the long term interest from its own real users. Meaning the buyers and sellers of the dark markets not the buy and holders. That is one of the biggest part of Bitcoin's economy. Alphabay sellers have started accepting XMR, if more dark markets accept it because of the lack of Bitcoins's development in fixing the growing problem of transactions always taking hours to confirm expect no. of users to fall.

For last few days, the bitcoins transactions are taking larger than normal time ot get get confirmed even on normal fees. Putting a higher fee is one solution to the slow blockchain confirmations.
We need to find out what is the main reason of blockchain slowness so that this issue can be solved properly.

Increasing blocksize just for the faster confirmation is not good. If blocksize is increased several other conflicts gets initiated. Based upon this several hard discussions were going on just without increasing blocksize.

Of course nobody in bitcoin world is happy with transaction fees and confirmation time anybody faces last days except miners, who earn very good profit. Besides that, as far as it concerns Alphabay or Oasis or any market related with deep web, has nothing to do with bitcoin's transactions issue but with some very important features people want when they visit these sites. These features are the anonymity and non traceability which obviously are not included in the characteristics neither bitcoin nor ethereum so their users found another crypto according to deepdotweb

0.001 is quite a lot of money considering the bitcoin's price right now.I agree with the OP,two things need to be worked on

Why my friend pay 0.01 btc to the miner, and he waited for 5 hours to get 1 confirmation, the reason is not the fee, it is about slow transaction, only Lightening network can save bitcoin.

it's now how it work, you must look at the size of your transaction, to determine the correct amount of fee, some transaction are heavy and require 100k satoshi or more

the 20k-30k satoshi is just the bottom now not even the average, still it's not expensive at all to send any transaction
