Gold vs. Bitcoin as an Investment - What’s Better?

If you had to invest strictly either in bitcoin or gold for next 15 years, what would it be?

Bitcoin:

is crazy compare investment gold, bitcoin, or altcoin until reach next 15 year
bitcoin and altcoin is not longterm project investment,nut shorterm investment profit must selling, if you want hold coin maximum and good 1 year
if compare hold until reach 15 year, or investment wait until 15 year can't comparation and not good comparation

May be for gold to bitccoin it is still possible thing to do, but for altcoin I dont really think that it has a chance to be compared to both of them. If I were asked to choose I will rather do both of them. Since gold price will kepp on increasing and in bitcoin we can earn through many ways. So I will do both, let say if bitcoin price is down, it does not matter for me too because it is just like free money. Gold is more valuable because you really need to stacking up for it and you cant get it just by using some faucet or even campaign

Update to 1 years ahead I won't buy gold and all funds will I switch to investing bitcoin. many people say that the best is the year 2016 for bitcoin, but I'm still convinced that the price of the year 2017 will be better than the year 2016.

Both are good investment place, although the volatility has provided by bitcoin is much better comparing with gold, but I can't choose the better investment gold or bitcoin. because I use both of them to invest my money.
It's so difficult to choose, or the companies stock is much better than it.

For me I wanted to choose both they are good in profit and depending on how you are going to put effort in it.

This is a difficult choice, both have their own interests. Currently the price of  Bitcoin  has now returned steady above $ 1000 and probably will rise further. Gold still remained at the price is $ 1,133. Shortly after the US presidential election end, the price of gold has been plummeted while Bitcoin prices higher. Throughout the years, gold has always been considered an asset valuable storage and safest. However, with the current economy, especially the introduction of the Bitcoin, maybe this should be reconsidered. Both gold and Bitcoin are long-term investments, gold was selected because they are a valuable commodity throughout the history of man. Although the price of gold to fall, but it is still a very good investment channel. Dong Bitcoin was selected by the ability to increase its value through technological advances of Bitcoin.
Given the choice I would choose both but only one, I will choose Bitcoin, I believe that Bitcoin will also develop further.

agree. but they just differ on one thing, Gold has a physical value and never be vanish or destroy while bitcoin is just a crypto currency that anytime, there is a possibility to collapse and loss.
They both have same behavior in terms of it's price, But i choose bitcoin even if it is a risky investment, because there is a lot of potential profit out of it rather than gold

gold was already exist before century and if for long term investment for next 50-60 years i think gold is the best options and bitcoin on those years i don't know would still valuable or not so if i may to choose i think i would choose gold because for long term investment i would not make experiment

Since there is only one to vote then I voted only for bitcoin since the investment has more opportunity to gain profit.

I would vote also for Altcoins because there is a huge opportunity to gain profit if we are lucky but at the same time it is much riskier than bitcoin.

We have already discussed this topic before and I think bitcoin is always better than gold when it comes to the investment because of the proven track record (not everyone purchase gold for the sake of investment and not everyone purchase bitcoin just because it is amazing technology to use) so while considering overall picture, I would prefer bitcoin for the purpose of investment.

In terms of short term profit, I'll pick Bitcoin because we can see on the price chart or the history chart that the price of bitcoin already rises up and it seems that it is being stable for this moment but we can expect both price increase or decrease because it is always depend on the scenarios that are going on or the news that will be release that is related on Bitcoin.

In terms of long term profit (Like 20 years above), I'll pick Gold because it is stable and we already know that the price is expensive and after a few years it will increase as the supply is already experiencing a shortage which makes the price high, So how come after 20 years? Right now according to the price of both gold and bitcoin. Bitcoin has more value when compared to gold, but gold is running from decades and is consistently running from many years.  But right now i am concentrating on both of the investments because gold is always stable with prices so it is going to be my long term investment but where as bitcoin is in volatile condition, So it will give some profits on daily trading.

We are in bitcoin and well say that bitcoin will always be the best investment. But for me, it's good if you are able to have both investments. Because if you are an optimistic investor you'll find both as good investment and that will give you profit .

yes both of them are really good but in terms of high possibilities its much better to have bitcoin for now as the value keeps on arising and its not really on peak yet unlike gold that's already been determine the value and the fluctuation is not really big, bitcoin can be double or more in the coming future ahead if adoptions will be more successful.

I'm confused - is the question Gold vs. Bitcoin or is Gold vs. Bitcoin vs. Stock ?

If it's the former, I choose Bitcoin. If it's the latter I choose Stock.

Bitcoin may have a bigger growth potential but it's got a ton of risk associated with it. Stocks are more stable, regular, annual growth. Less risk. You gotta have both.

And in my experience we all experience 2 or 3 change-the-world type of movements in business or industry. Bitcoin is one of those movements. And with those movements come opportunity to get involved, get a piece. So for that reason I'll be in on this thing until it fails. And I hope we're all wildly successful.

Would completely rather have gold, I know people on here are going to be a bit biased based on the simple fact that we're on a site about the niche community that bitcoin has but I'd rather be able to fully hold what I own and know that I can secure it and all. The part that it's been used as currency for most of Civilization is an obious plus sign based on the fact that if FIAT currencies die out Gold will probably be the next to take over.

You can't just compare something that's been out for 8 years and something that's been trades for PRETTY MUCH ALL OF CIVILIZATIONS TIME it just doesn't make sense. You're comparing apples to oranges, compare apples to apples buddy.

1 if you want very fast grow youre money but high risk you can altcoin investment, high profit and high risk
2 if you want high profit and fast grow money but medium or low risk you can bitcoin investment
3 in gold investment low risk and low profit

I obviously would want to have both bitcoin and gold but for now I'm mostly focusing on bitcoin. Provided you know how to keep it safe it would be hard for people to take it from you. Since you can keep large amounts of money digitally you also are somewhat your own bank. The large price jumps is the primary lure of bitcoin though. Bitcoin bought when it was first introduced would have doubled its value in comparison to fiat by now.

Of course there are issues like a possible total collapses, hacking and government crack down and it'd probably be safer to also have investments outside cryptos.
