I think that in the case of Israel, due to the fact that it is a belligerent country and government policies aimed at stimulating the birth rate. Besides, Judaism is very similar to Islam with a negative attitude to abortion.

This is the type of thing that should happen in the US when someone commits such a heinous crime and attempts to or thinks of using their diplomatic status as a way to get out of it. It's absolutely disgusting to see an example coming from a foreign country (Saudi Arabia) and committing such an act. Aren't they supposed to be representing their country when they go ahead and visit another place?

What a horrible example, but I GUESS these countries should pick better diplomats or the rest of the world is going to think this is how serious they take their government.

There are more than a billion ethnic Chinese in the world, and Singapore can easily attract ethnic Chinese immigrants from mainland China or Malaysia. So probably they are not much worried about the low birth rates.

I support applying jurisdiction over citizenship, not the territory. If Saudi citizen committed crime in Singapore he must be sent to Saudi Arabia and prosecuted under Sauidi laws.
It is 100% fault of Singaporean authorities who granted visa to this man and local court can give some lashes to visa officer (just a joke, personally I am against caning, monetary fine will be the best option). Then he will think twice before issuing visas!

See fertility rate as a "fitness function" of the respective country. Higher is better, even it is below threshold of replacement (about 2.1 in technologically advanced  countries).

For some basic laws which are universally known (murder, theft, rape using physical violence /except b*shit "statutory rape"/, vandalism) it is not a problem. They are illegal no mater of jurisdiction.

For other acts, person cannot be punished before he signed a contract with the visa-issuing government that he knows and understands ALL laws the govt wants to apply to him! It must me informed consent, well explained by visa officer and the officer must ensure if the visa-asking person really understand these laws.

At least in this case, I believe that the charges are real. The Saudis are notorious for their perverted behavior, both at home and abroad. A few days back, I read that more than 90% of the female domestic helps in Saudi Arabia are raped regularly by their employers.

For me rape is a great evil! Punishment should be severe, but the laws which is punished only for the fact that the man suggested the woman to meet is a bust. Women can generally ceases to be interested in men and all the love will go to the prostitutes.
