How do I educate myself on bitcoin for investing?

if u are newbie in bitcoin, i have a suggestion.

if u want to profit with ur investment in bitcoin, u must wait for cheap price for buy and hold in ur wallet,
And wait till the price goes up and you sell it back.

Agreed, that's the common method that not only the newbie, most of the traders follow. Users who can't afford much can hold small portions that they can afford as the price is high. Also I don't think that the price will fall down anymore less than $1000.

You don't think that it can go less than $1000 but it can happen as volitality occurs as dumpers dump bitcoin again. Also, I don't think they can do it easily since the buy order support in bitcoin is huge, thus it's hard to break it. However, if there is/are negative news woth regards bitcoin, it can really affect bitcoin and hope it won't happen. Let's be positve bitcoiners.

I do not know why you expecting the bitcoin value to dump towards 1000$ or lesser than that. None of the people will expect for forking to happen again on bitcoin. Price is always volatile but its seems stable after the price reaches to 1200$ and more. You will see the value around 2000$ for sure in this Christmas.

i think it is not such a good expectation because we can see that the price of bitcoin is continuously increasing, and there are more chance that the price of bitcoin will hit 1500 USD very soon, therefore i do not think that there any chance that the price of bitcoin will fell down to 1000 USD level again. i think we can only expect that in very near future the price of bitcoin is going to hit 1500 USD level and after that it will certainly cross 2000 USD level at the end of 2017/

Experience is the best teacher for it. With a lot of experience, you'll find out how to take advantage of bitcoin in terms of investments, and to get that experience, you have to try a lot of new things, and take decisions.

did learn from books but I jsut spend the btc I earned to poloniex, it doesn't  matter to me whether I profit or not so long as my adrenaline to sell high and buy low is tested by my hand. I loss all of it from the first few weeks but gradually learned whtqa they actually mean by  "buy low sell high".

you may understand it like btc/usd so buy btc when the price is low and once the price hits almost the peak, sell for USD. or you can take it like buy altcoin/btc and then sell when its pumped. there are good altcoin such as eth and xmr.

Learning from mistake is one's past mistake is one of the key of being stronger and concerning the buying low and selling is the reason why I think the OP need to hold the bitcoin he/she had in a secure wallet for sometime because the forks issue will bulish bitcoin and holding bitcoin is also means of buying low and selling.

Our past mistakes can be our teacher. I agree to you that we can learn a lot of knowledge from our mistakes. I can say mistakes is part of our life because it is the sign that we are becoming stronger and also learning to past mistakes is the key for us to success.

Exactly bro bitcointalk is really the place to be this is the place where I discover that cryptocurrency trading exist when I first joined this community I have zero idea about trading and the community here helped me a lot. Google can be very helpful for newbies too since you can everything there just type the exact thing you want to know about trading and then click the search button.

i think bitcoin price is not going to feel down so much. i think it has a very strong support which is not letting bitcoin to drop from 2000$ and i am hopeful that it will continue increasing. and will reach to 5000$ in next few months. i think in present condition if a person can afford he should try to buy more bitcoin or at least the bitcoin that he already have.

You made mistakes in the past but that would not let you stop on what you are doing, surely what you loss is the past can

That two sources are already enough to gain knowledge about crypto, you will learn more if you spend more time and not just learning but also you have to apply what you learn so you will get results and hopefully you get what you expected. When you learn that does not mean it is already enough, it's a journey and every is a learning process so you have to prepare yourself for changes and improve it accordingly.
