Do you think paypal will ever accept bitcoin as a source of payment? I think this would increase Paypal's traffic greatly if it were to ever happen. I think one problem Paypal would face is anonymity and chargeback's. I think they would have to completely disable all chargebacks with bitcoin in order for a change like this to be possible. For anomity I think they would have to create a bitcoin wallet, "Paypal-bitcoin wallet", where you would have to verify your information and only accept bitcoin payments from the address in the paypal bitcoin wallet. Another problem that could be easily fixed is double spending, for this to be solved they could simply just only allow a high fee on the paypal bitcoin wallet.

Besides the problems paypal would face if this were to happen bitcoin would be off the map. You could just deposit your money to paypal and be able to use that paypal money nearly anywhere since paypal is so highly accepted. The price of bitcoin would rise, along with the volume of bitcoin users. Thinking in the long run there aren't really any downfalls to paypal accepting bitcoin as payment that I could think of. I'm interested in what everyone thinks about this type of "update" happening to paypal.
Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Very much possible and Paypal market share might also skyrocket but I can't foresee this happening any time soon because of bitcoins anonymity

I hope this event may occur in next months. Bitcoin has gradually conquered other payment processors but PayPal seems the only one refusing to join this unstoppable evolution. All of my other usual processors have implemented some services to use bitcoins through their platforms (payza, Neteller) so I don't know what really prevent PayPal from accepting bitcoin.

I think the biggest problem of paypal and a big problem of implementing bitcoin would be chargebacks, there are so many problems with charge-backs and paypal it stops a lot of people from using it. I think they need a solution for giving people who actually had a problem with their account their money back and not some scammer. They need to figure how to fix their broken chargeback system before implementing anything new im my oponion.

I would say never.
Ebay bought Paypal to earn more, solve fraud cases faster and control users.
Bitcoin would increase fraud cases, overwhelm the control of users and in the longterm if they start to accept bitcoin and promote it bitcoin would win and leave the paypal behind begging for some users.

If paypal was not bought by ebay , maybe ebay would add bitcoin, but right now they are afraid that if they integrate bitcoin more people will realise that they don't need paypal.

Their goal is to control and rip the profit with crazy taxes

They can't realise these goals with Bitcoin

I don't think it happens, paypal wants to control transactions and dictate users, but with bitcoins it is impossible

I actually believe paypal bought ebay but im not to sure on that, and probably just a year ago I think ebay and paypal split up.

I do believe that bitcoin COULD bring more fraud cases to bitcoin, although I believe with proper usage bitcoin could be implemented without fraud cases, using the paypal-bitcoin wallet and only accepting bitcoin payments through that wallet I believe that it could remove all anonymity thus fraud, as I explained.

But your right it does seem pretty crazy that this would ever happen.

Paypal got spun off and separated although i don't know if it's still technically owned by eBay though.
It's a bit unclear..
http://fortune.com/2016/07/13/paypal-venmo-millennials/

They sure as hell do not need Bitcoin bullshit.. they make BILLIONS in revenue.

They have made brief comments in the past about Bitcoin but NOT that they would actually integrate it.

The reality is many people like myself have had horrendous drama with them and Bitcoin.
I sent the min-limit in late 2013 from BTCe to Paypal and it cost me $500 in fee's  Shocked
After both were paid.. they locked my account and launched an investigation..
..changing their story over and over as to what the problem was.
They did not have anything on me and were fishing via their resolution center.

In the end they demanded i admit "my guilt"

I had after all broke the TOS of using ANY virtual currency with Paypal.
I told them straight up why would i admit guilt when i did nothing wrong.. and...
when they would not tell me if that would help me get back my few grand they seized.
They just kept repeating it.. admit your guilt by signed affidavit.

So not knowing whether that would even do any good i had no choice.. it was literally the only option and hope i had to get the matter resolved.
At the time i had a few purchases pending and damn near 2 grand suspended at Newegg for PC parts.
This drama took a fat nasty shit all over my reputation with Newegg.. it looked like i ripped them off.
ALL of the PC parts had already shown up at my door and Newegg's payment was suspended by Paypal.
So i had to keep telling Newegg i was working on it and they WILL be paid.. and in the end they were.

Paypal demanded extensive proof of who i was and what i bought at Newegg and why etc.
I ended up uploading 63 items mostly pictures of shit i bought and proof of my identification.
Which was the original problem.
Once they had discovered no problems they simply created a new one and then carried on saying i was being a financial services business in violation of their TOS.
Trying to cash out BTC from the exchange BTCe twice is not what i would consider a business.  Roll Eyes

Fucked up part was i had not used my account for a while so i had called them on the phone and told them what i wanted to do and had everything verified.. they even doubled checked with a supervisor and i could hear them talking while waiting on the phone.
They said all super cheery and happy "you are good to go" and said "Happy shopping"
And i fucking shit you not they froze my account 8 hours later.
And yeah my account was verified for years before this too with 0 incidents of any kind ever.

After i gave them my signed guilt letter they unlocked my account after 2.5 months roughly then i noticed there was only 1 of two payments to Newegg that went through and the lesser amount vanished.
Since my order was about 2 grand or so and many parts were coming from different locations Newegg did not warn me my order would be split as i hit the final submit button.
Which meant beyond my control my 1 order was billed to Paypal twice at once for different amounts.
The lesser amount was about $700..

When Paypal said my account was unlocked and "Happy Shopping" again.. i still was missing the money for that $700 and both Newegg and Paypal every single day for weeks kept pushing me to the other saying we don't have it.. and i knew all along Paypal were lying.
Eventually i got the guy who helped via a special method to look into it and swiftly he could tell no problem at all that yes indeed we did RIP YOU OFF !
And i had the $700 back finally after soooo much drama.
Paypal refund me the cash and i then re-sent it to Newegg with an apology.
Surprisingly Newegg was never mad and was very understanding and ever did punish me for it aside from locking my account while it was pending.
Newegg.ca was first class.

Paypal is the world company in human history.. worthless dirt /.

That was the most frustrating experience i have ever dealt with in my life with a company.

And trust me when the decide to fuck you over it is no easy battle.
They auto ban you from their forums so you can't go there..
But i had another account from a family member i sued to go and bitch and they all got lippy and or ignored me.. so that was 100% of a waste of time.

Then the emails they send you can not be replied back to.
They tell you the only way to contact them is to do what it says in their Paypal.com Resolution Center thing.
Which gives you 1 option.. to upload pictures as they request them.
So i created text messages to yell at them in picture form and i uploaded those ROFL cunts ! Angry

Eventually doing some Google searching i found out you need to do a DM via their Twitter Help Page.
That gets you a person to step up and help you directly with no more bullshit.
That is what got my shit going after months of being fucked around and who got me the stolen money back too.

I told them via "picture" why is it that Virwox is allowed to do deals with 2nd Life game - Linden's long before and after my incident ?
Why is it i am allowed to go RIGHT NOW and buy Altcoins on eBay and pay with Paypal ?
No comment of course  Roll Eyes

Bottom Line: they are scum and will fuck you.. prepare to lose your money or fight for your life !

I Google searched part of he email back then they sent me saying i violated their TOS "using any virtual currency with Paypal" guess what i seen ? One of the first hits was THIS FORUM !
Turns out people have been coming here and saying what i said exactly word for word since 2012 or even earlier.

To my complete shock & disgust i wondered why this forum allows a whole entire forum section to do it ?
Why did BTCe do it ?
I lost a hell of a lot of respect for this place after that.. even after telling all the staff here they just don't give a shit.
The only thing you see is a stickied message from theymos about "Charge Backs" which are the least of your worries !

Then over time i have found out proof a LOT of the guys doing deals where with Paypal are well aware of the TOS violation and actually get numerous accounts seized and lose their money.
They all know it is wrong and they just keep doing it.
Which is deceitful and fraudulent and HIGHLY RISKY and deserves a negative rating as far as i am concerned.
Anyone who knowingly breaks Paypal TOS to profit is a deceitful little fucking scumbag.
PUTTING THEIR CUSTOMER AT EXTREME RISK !

How ?

Scroll the fuck up idiots.. what the fuck did i just say ?

What happens when you pay some asshole and his account is locked and he abandons it and then changes names here ?
Say bye bye to your --> $$$

So..

Is Paypal going to add Bitcoin ? Not bloody Likely or they would have done it already i think.
The only reason they might is to expand their user base i think.
And since Bitcoin is on the decline and going no where fast i don't see them wanting to take part in the Silk Road unregulated lawless Ransomware FBI SEC FiNCEN shit storm of faggotry that is crypto.. for a eager handful of customer more..

Bitcoin has been on the decline for years now... criminals re the only improvements.
And tech wise they don't need it.
It's like a block-chain used by banks.. why bother when you don't have to ?
Why adhere to a strict system when they can do what ever they want as it is now behind closed doors for free ?
Where is the large financial advantage for such a small increase in user base ?
They make BILLIONS in *PROFIT* they don't need little kiddy toy tech chump change criminal crap for a few more possible sketchy pain the ass criminal fuck head users.

That would be great and in some way expected for them to do, since lots of other payment processors implemented it (like Payza, for example), but on the other hand when you look back at Paypal politics (like they don`t like gambling sites, MLM shemes.. end so on) I don`t think that would ever happen.

Because of the fact that bitcoin is a competitor to PayPal and the whole fraud issues, it would be an immense hurdle.  But, imagine if PayPal finally accepted bitcoins..hell they could even set up their own exchange that would compete with other exchanges, especially localbitcoins.  PayPal could use their own block chain technology.  It would increase the market cap of bitcoins and Paypal.  One can only dream... Smiley

PayPal is going to have to adapt to blockchain technology some time or it will become obsolete.
