New record being at 1000+?

One of the good indicators of bitcoin making progress is the fact that we are staying at 1000+ for days now and everytime we approach 1000, it goes up again. Doubters seem to be getting nervous and they are getting in when it gets close to 1000.

So we hit a new record? We have been at 1000+ since Feb 2th.

It hasn't stayed over $1000 entirely, but it's good to see the the price remain over $1000 for a while. People have to adapt to seeing the price at these levels as they were used to levels a few hundred $ lower. It will take time before people gain enough confidence to support these levels. I wouldn't be surprised if the price happens to fall back below $1000 again. Price range should be somewhere between $900 and $1100 in the coming weeks.

slow is better than fast increase.... when it increases too fast, it would drop hard.

OP I am still doubtful. Bitcoin is so volatile that we can see it go down to $800 in a matter of minutes like we did in the past. Sure hold your breath but also expect the worst. I have been thru so much disappointment with Bitcoin and it has made me numb no matter how high or low it goes. I just buy whenever I think the price is low.

well yes mate, after we see much greater from its previous record of 1100$ we can say that we are in good form and possible to reach more, just needed to keep assessing the price and try to short so if there's some downtrend we can buy it and hold to then sell it when price really rocket high its the good way to earn from this fluctuations.

$200 is a very huge range even for bitcoin!
and price has been staying above $1000. the temporary mini dump that happened once or twice are just it, a mini dump and temporarily corrects itself. and as time passes while staying above $1000 this price support is becoming stronger.
and the range which we have right now is between $980 bottom and $1050

the price is getting up and down too often and its good to see the fluctuation like this and for the traders, they can make decent of profit because if we see the price is fluctuation, there is many chance for us to do trade in a day and we can expecting to make profit. and yes, i think its a new record for us that reach $100 in february 2017.

In forum I saw a thread yesterday that people keep updating it with the recent maximum price since 2013 or so, and what I saw was 2013 2017 so for 4 years the bitcoin has reached $1000+ which is good and the fact that the price is 1000+ for not even a week we can't say that it is the new bottom because the price can crash any time unfortunately.

People need to realize that bitcoin was designed to gain value over time, maybe we reached the point when $1000 is our new bottom price?
Obviously we can't count that accidental pump of 2013, it wasn't organic at all. Let's hope that market has grown enough since that time to sustain the price..

Lot of you remember that in 2013 btc couldn't not hold 1000 price but this time is lot different and price is stable and it will remain like this for a while.

Many people compares recent situation to the year 2013, because the price was quite simmilar, but as you said, today we have definitely a different situation, the traded volume is much much higher and the market is much more stronger and stable than it was back in the 2013. That's why I also believe that now the price will stay like this for a longer while and I don't expect any dramatic fall down.

This time, it is different. The rise has been gradual and we seem to have more staying power.
If anything, the price looks like it will break out over $1050, rather than collapse to less than $1000.

Yes, I think this time bitcoin might just float over $1000 for some time because the drop last time was instant and since we have not faced that drop yet I think it is safe to say bitcoin might say this way or maybe even rise soon.

Look again. Bitcoin has been $1000+ since February 3, so that's 3 days in a row. They tried to crash the price below $1000 in several occasions (notice the sudden dips) and they failed to bring it below $1000, it was close but it quickly goes up again. $1000 is becoming the new floor.

back in 2013 price went from about $200 to $1200 in less than a month and there were no buy support and mostly the price had gone up with fake pumps done by MtGox which were controlling all the bitcoin market since there were no other exchanges (others were tiny).

and besides 4.5 hours or 4.5 days are not going to change any facts. there is a strong buy support behind this rise. and it is not going to go down unless some big FUD happens. and even in the case of an FUD price will go down and come back up again fast.
