Be ready for a big jump in bitcoin mining difficulty. You going to earn less money with the same TH/s hashing power
if the price going to stay the same.
Bitmain sold 1000's of s9's in the past few weeks starting shipping those miners soon, they also upgrading they own mining farm. As soon as all this miners become active , the total network hashrate going up , difficulty will be much higher in march .

We entered the year with 3170 ph we are now at 4220 ph.

That is 1050 ph in 37 days.

That is a lot of gear.

80 s9s are about 1 ph
800 s9s are about 10 ph
8000 s9s are about 100 ph
80000 s9s are about 1000 ph

I think 80000 s9s can burn 120,000 kwatts

But the scary part is. Bitmain built a 400 mega plant.

So that is 400,000 kwatts. Which means  they could run close to 240,000 s9s in it.

The op could be correct that there is room for more growth. If so price may follow .

With the 400 megawatts bitmain farm difficult could double this year (respect the end of 2016). If the prices increase 2x too isn't a big problem, but if bitcoin prices have small increasing miners on countries with higher electricity cost will have problems to pay its electricity bill.

Unreal how Bitcoin turned into a rich man's hobby.  I know nothing stays the same, but people/companies are so greedy.  Or idiots like me that stare at old wallets from 2011 with 3+ bitcoins in them and can do nothing about it.    We mined for fun back then not greed!

Too bad the asic mining companies kept on doubling and doubling, tripling the power.  Wonder what Bitcoin's future would've turned out if all of us were limited to 200 ghs.

bitmain is always perform first in bitcoin mining and i am sure that they can mining bitcoin easily with the upgrading their hardware. i think with increasing in difficulty, the price is getting increase too because its hard to mining bitcoin with small until medium hashrate and we only get less amount in mining.

May I suggest to take a look at yobit? to see what could bitcoin turn out to be if hash rate was low, all the useless alts are the best testing ground

About difficulty rise and people worrying about price might not rise as well, I'd say that's not a problem because when miners see they are not in profit they will simply hold or put a fix high price and buyers decide if they want in those price ranges or not and considering the growth in adoption there will always be new bloods willing to pay whatever the sellers are offering.

when this kind of difficulty growth is happening and Bitmain sells tons of their
top of the line miners,expect them to announce a new,more efficient,faster etc. miner soonish
also 30%+ difficulty growth is staggering,wonder how would the price react to all of this
