Until last night I was able to connect to slush's pool using guiminer but now I get these errors:

I didn't change any settings.    I have my maximum hash rate but no shares.  Can anyone suggest what's wrong?  Thanks.

Slush just said that there is a current DDOS attack. There's not much we can do except wait it out. :|

well he noticed within 10 mins of the attack starting and hes usually very quick to get thing sorted, thin hes one of a hand full of pool operators that actually monitors the pool

just slush as far as i know, kinda hard to tell as a few have ddos protection so you dont notice if there being ddosed or not, slush gets ddosed quite a bit recently

also you should change your setting to stratum
stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333

read there website there taking 10% of your earnings
14.04.2013
As announced in Getwork deprecation plan, the hashrate on Stratum is far above 90%, so workers which are still using the deprecated Getwork protocol are now charged by 10% fee. Please update your software and start using modern Stratum miners to reduce your fees back to 2%!

I'm using the lates tversion of guiminer and for slush's pool it appears to automatically use: api2.bitcoin.cz:8332.  Should this software be updated?  Once the pool is back up I will manually enter the stratum address using the 'other' option.

GUIminer isnt that upto date, slush only decided to go stratum a few months ago and the latest version of GUIminer was December someone should update it but that said dont think a little thing like this would bother them to much

yes if it says your using stratum then your using stratum (he might have been lazy and just put all of the pool addresses onto stratum)

most of the time nothing but at the same time if you hit a few pools then the price of bitcoin fluctuates or if you keep a pool offline long enough then other pools get the chance to earn more bitcoins

overall its just some sad little prick who can press a button that needs his fingures cutting off... then his toes... then arms... then legs... then head and maybe some other bits inbetween

as people can tell i hate ddosing its a pussys way to do stuff and anyone doing it need to be shot
