They put the below quoted message on every forum page header.. i highlighted the important part.

Quote
IMPORTANT: IMDb is the world's most popular and authoritative source for movie, TV and celebrity content. As part of our ongoing effort to continually evaluate and enhance the customer experience on IMDb, we have decided to disable IMDb's message boards on February 20, 2017. This includes the Private Message system. After in-depth discussion and examination, we have concluded that IMDb's message boards are no longer providing a positive, useful experience for the vast majority of our more than 250 million monthly users worldwide. The decision to retire a long-standing feature was made only after careful consideration and was based on data and traffic. See more

Full Announcement = http://www.imdb.com/board/announcement

Funny enough i posted here asking for Trolls to come and join me over there. (few days ago)
I came back a few hours later and that message was added.
I am sure it was a coincidence but it was still pretty funny.

I think the jist of it is.. they are killing it because "Trolls"  Cheesy

So do you all think this is cool ? Thoughts ?

PS:
I voted NO ..leave it open.

Trolls should be heard too in a free speech society. So my vote is no, do not remove them. Let the trolls have their say dammit!!

Troll Free Speech is important !

And i am surprised no one cares here.. they have 250 million users (many of them on the forum)

What blows me away is the sheer size of it and popularity and then turning their nose up at their fans.
There is a lot of people out there that would love to have their site or forum as popular.
Shutting it down over "Trolls" ? wow ..just WOW  Roll Eyes

Oh and "Meh" added Wink

It's not that I have anything against movie buffs (though I do think there is something not quite right with them), I just don't want to virtually hang out with them.  Bitcoin people are much more interesting.

I have never visited IMDB forum. If I don't know what to watch, I open the main site, and use the filter by categories, actors, directors, then look at a movie rate. I have never opened the forum, so I don't care if it will be closed. Maybe some people find it useful, and will be better if it remains as it is.
