Hey Bitcoin, here's the deal: I need a new car. I just got home from a very long and sweaty trip: my A/C works, but at least one blend door actuator is possessed has a life of its own. I reset the system, and it worked for a few minutes again before it went wrong again. The end result: the A/C is working hard, the fan is loud, but the cold air doesn't reach the inside of the car. Barely any air comes out, because some of the blend doors are blocking it. Automatic climate control is very nice, until something fails, then old fashioned manual controls would have been much better. Add the fact that it consumes engine coolant, has a "check engine light" that comes on most of the time (but I can turn it off for a few hours by driving only long trips with expensive premium fuel), door rubbers that come loose, and tire pressure sensors that make a light on my dashboard blink (because of the sensor, not because of the tire pressure), and it's time to replace it. It's not even that old, but has had far too many problems already. Long story short, I want a new car.  Why post it here? I want to make a deal with Bitcoin, because I don't want to sell too much. So Bitcoin must go up, that's the only solution Smiley

Maybe I'm just very tired, but this felt like the right thing to post after the broken A/C really got to me. I just drove for 12 hours, passed an upside down car, a camper van on it's side, and lots of road work. Time to hit the couch with alcohol Smiley

Don't tell me about A/C units right now, because I'm ready to rip mine off the wall. Talking about my home A/C. Earlier on I went to my home lab to check something, and found my workbench full of water. The damned A/C drain pipe got blocked somehow, and the internal unit, which is directly over my workbench, started spitting out water all over my equipment. The one that got soaked the worst was my Tektronix oscilloscope, worth a few thousand $. Fortunately, it was not powered on. It's now slowly "baking" in the oven, to dry out. Let's hope it works when I power it up.

Check your A/C units, and service them regularly, or you may end up like me or worse. Damn it.

Edit: typo.

Edit 2: Tek oscilloscope working fine! Phew! Also, I managed to repair a router which also got soaked and stopped working (it was powered on when it got wet). Had to remove a heatsink and clean the pins of the Broadcom chip under it (and the entire PCB) with alcohol (yes, the kind Phil drinks, 186 Proof to be exact -- still way to go, but getting there!). It came back to life! It's a cheap little router, I could have bought another one, but it's always nice when things start working again. Removed blockage from A/C drain pipe, now A/C works noticeably better and the rooms are much drier than before. All good. Wasted a day, but result was net positive.

Some more info on the Midnight airdrop for the Bitcoin holders out there. Going off the estimated supply and the valuation that is being talked about, I think this will end up being an airdrop of about $300 per BTC. Bitcoin is the worst $ for $ of any coin to receive this airdrop, but free money is free money.

So, to claim, I have to sign a message using the wallet.
Any security concerns about this?

EDIT2

Not seen that before, hmmmm interesting. When do you think that would be this time?

My graph skills tell me about 12 months of bull run ahead of us.

This smells so Italy!
Every time I see a plate from your part of the world (PLENTY of them, literally LOADS) i m wondering if it is you driving it.

I do feel you.
I am driving a 14-year-old car, and I am terrified of changing it, because, apart from obvious aesthetic damages after such a long tenure, it runs so smoothly.

Best rant in a while.

What is this story?

Reposting info…

What is “known” so far…

The snapshot was taken on June 11th and $NIGHT will be sent to holders of:
• ADA
• BTC
• ETH
• SOL
• XRP
• BNB
• AVAX
• BAT

It is expected to happen in the next 60 days, but no later than 150 days.

It is a native Cardano token and the largest amounts will be airdropped to ADA holders.

You will need a CIP-30 compatible Cardano wallet to claim.

Claim period will be 60 days.

You needed to be holding at least 0.0009071 BTC at an address when the airdrop happened to be eligible.

It claims to add a privacy layer to Bitcoin’s blockchain.

Edit: I don’t want to get into a debate about what $NIGHT will be worth, because I don’t care. The $10 billion number is the market cap being touted by Charles Hoskinson, who is behind it.

Re the drop; it is highly unlikely it would be $300/696=$0.43 as $0.43X24 bil tokens=10.34 bil.
IMHo, it won't be that...maybe it would be for one minute and then, maybe 2-3 bil or 0.08-0.12/token OR $56-83/btc.

This is MY estimate, not a financial advice.

You mean when 200w sma reaches the prior ATH?
It could be shorter if the curve bends upwards if/when we rip up in Q3-Q4.

Recently, I came across a post where I saw a Bitcoin discussion. [Satoshi Nakamoto's status gone]

The statue has just been stolen:

The story of how it was lost:

Recovery Post:

Some young people nearby broke it and threw it into a nearby heart while they were drunk at a nearby cafe. A sensational situation has been created for such an incident in Switzerland. However, it is not normal to accept that such an incident will happen in a beautiful city in Switzerland.

Again, I saw that it had been removed from the lake for recovery, and work was underway to repair it. But so far, I have not received any such update to investigate and take action against those who did such a thing.

Although it is currently being recovered, it should be kept under surveillance so that such an incident does not happen again.

Note: The image that I have shared here is not visible because I am new here, and it requires a minimum of 1 merit to show my image. Grin Then maybe my image will show. You will have a little trouble seeing the image. Thank you.

you fucked up as I was just about to merit you until i read your note.

off topic about the newbie begging.  earlier i said poke out the eyes of the prepertrator and cut the hands off them.

too bad the statue was in a country that would never do that.

my guess is they do very little time .

I have the feeling that the statue might have been destroyed by some climate activist salty nocoiners...

what can you expect from shitcoiners....

however, 300$ can be pretty nice, if you have many coins.  Surely many will move their coins to a new address for that... (which everyone should do after signing messages!!)

...
So, to claim, I have to sign a message using the wallet.
Any security concerns about this?

As long as you move your coins and use TOR when showing them your signature it should be fine. You can use a VPN but then the VPN provider will know who you are

My graph skills tell me about 12 months of bull run ahead of us.

Holy cow fillippone!!  We are going to have a bull run that goes into the 3rd quarter of 2026?

I was saying something like that in 2021.. .. .. but I was not using graph skills .. I was using ass skills.

Not even worth it for free money...

Bitcoin changes in price $300 to $1k per coin up and down within a few hours... and yeah.. maybe we can get a bonus $56 to $83.. or if we are really lucky, up to $300 per coin like OgNasty says.. ... ..

For me it does not sound like "free money is free money."

To me it sounds like a shitcoiner pumping his bullshit and hoping some bitcoiners will also jump through his hoops to get use and/or traffic and/or attention to his product and also to pump his bags...

Don't need that stinkin money.. .. .. like I said.. dee cornz go up by $300 to $1k in an hour or two.. and that is good enough for me... look.. I probably have a pretty similar quantity of coins (within 5% or so) now as I had when bitcoin was $25k through the early parts of 2023.. and yeah, maybe I have a similar quantity of coins (within 5% or so) when BTC was passing through $20k in late 2020..   I did not look at the exact numbers.. to the extent that I can do any thing beyond ballpark it... so in essence bitcoin has gone up from $25k to right around $115k.. so that is going up $90k, which is right around 300x more than the $300-ish free dollars.. but instead just by hanging onto bitcoin and not fucking around with shitcoins, I made $90k for every $300 that Charles is going to hand out to me while I would have to potentially give up some coin information to be moving coins around or whatever sharing of private keys...

I am not impressed by the supposed free money.. . and if BTC merely gets back up to $123k that is another $8k per coin in my paper profits.. and then surely there are a lot of places that bitcoin can continue to go in the coming 3-9 months (not sure if it will be 12 months, but does it matter since I am only shaving off a bit anyhow), so why be fucking around with a suppose free $300, which in essence is barely a 1/4 of a percent... Some folks like to chase around that kind of distracting bullshit.. traders and shitcoiners.. and i really doubt that they are doing better than the BTC accumulators and holders.

My graph skills tell me about 12 months of bull run ahead of us.

You mean when 200w sma reaches the prior ATH?
It could be shorter if the curve bends upwards if/when we rip up in Q3-Q4.
For sure the 200 Week moving average moves up a lot faster when we go on rips.. .. yet I am not sure If I buy this theory about their being much significance in the 200-WMA meeting the previous ATH... even though it is a fun nicety to look at... and sure maybe it will happen as early as late Q4 2025, but I cannot see it happening in Q3... since there is still $18k to go.. .. and it is going up around $50 per day, so even if it doubles, that is still 180 days. which is half a year..
