I think Jack is pretty good at seeing what's really going on behind the action and at least in the first couple minutes of this podcast he's nailing it.

No shit. But 1h18 of blah blah, with recaps about previous episodes and notes about colds before getting to the friggin' point? Another lesson about 10-year treasury yields? Puh-leeeze... it's like television! Well, it's better because you can fast forward, but still...

Content: It's more or less what Arthur Hayes says. The difference is that this is diluted and hard to search/scan. Hayes articulates the content in written form, which is thicker because it's condensed, but much more documented and easier to peruse on a second pass. Who needs a second pass at this? Besides, I love the nicknames. Buffalo Bill, Bad Gurl Yellen, Cuck Towel Boy. That's priceless.

Basically my usual dislike of blah-blah talk shows that kidnap your brain for hours, when a few concentrated minutes would do, if only they could write. This does not mean the content isn't good.

That's the good thing with being distracted easily: Blah-blah talk shows have no chance to hijack your brain. I really held out to make it to 4:52, when i started to skip. After another minute it became obvious that this is just a leeeeengthy Strike commercial. Bummer. Lost five minutes of my life. That's not that much of a problem, because it happens all the time, but i didn't feel i got anything out of it.

Well, on the video's topic: Yes, if the plan (more like a premature idea) works out, Europe gets fucked, but also at the expense of the american people, so the US gets fucked by the US administration too, but the narrative will most likely be something like "but the europeans got fucked more - plus it was all their fault", or something like that.
Seems we have no idea where to go as a society, which makes things like this getting pulled off easily. Anything goes, as long as it makes people believe that things actually will change for the(ir) better.

Exactly why I stopped listening.

It's also the reason when I drop youtube links I always try to do it to a time stamp, unless its a shitpost like a music vid. Smiley

This is the week of the four year cycle bottom on the calendar. Clearly it was bought by some big money who got in front of the trend. So I wonder a little bit if their plan was to trade the four year cycle trade, or to hold for the long haul. I guess we’ll get our answer if we drop hard from here. I am remaining cautious for the time being. If we dip back into the 60s for any reason, I will toss the horns on and get ready for Pamplona.

That'll teach me for recommending a video before I listen to it. 😁

As to your point about better, I don't think this ends up better for anybody.  It's more of what ordered to things turn shitty in. Lol.

But then there's that whole other psyop that's being wound up at this point.  Very, very reminiscent of late 2019, honestly.

Yeah, that 2019 black swan, built the foundations for today's world conditions.
I remember your point(s) about that quite well, but it's still somehow a thorn in mankind's side, so one can rarely talk in an unbiased way about it - if he/she/it even wants to talk about it. Many seem to try to forget on purpose, or are we really that forgetful... or repressive?
But this seems to follow some kind of human "pattern", as most bad historical happenings, which should have been better processed psychologically, culturally, and ethically, but seem to get binned ASAP for the sake of "peace of mind" (which i find more than just ironic, by the way).
Could be "we" are not as developed as a species and as a society as we might think?  Huh
Always reminds me of the "science of discworld" series, which is as fun as interesting as a read.

Quote from: Pratchett, RIP
"We are the storytelling ape, and we are incredibly good at it. As soon as we are old enough to want to understand what is happening around us, we begin to live in a world of stories. We think in narrative."

That video contained good info IMHO, only in a format unsuitable for me. But it provoked a fruitful discussion, which is a merit in itself - and more than can be said about many posts around here. So I went to merit your OP and... it vanished? Come on cAPS, deleting it is bit too draconian  Grin

It was far too rambly for me to want to suggest it as strongly as I did.  I am actually grateful this forum allows post deletion. Some do not.

But I would say to continue the conversation for sure.  There's a lot of interesting stuff going on right now.  And it's a bit too early to say for sure, but we could be looking at some very interesting developments in the relatively short term.

BobClawblaw's Bitcoin News Digest - 2026-10-06 (Evening Edition)

Published: 2026-10-06 09:04 PM CT

Strategy's estimated $4.1 billion tax benefit from its Bitcoin holdings dominates the narrative, overshadowing a modest 0.91% dip in Bitcoin's price over the last 24 hours. The Fear & Greed Index remains in Greed at 71, though the sentiment trend is deteriorating as the index drops three points weekly. This structural corporate gain contrasts with the broader market's cautious stance, where price action remains flat despite the headline news.

Outlook: Traders should monitor whether the divergence between high Treasury volatility and low crypto volatility persists, as historical data suggests bond stress can eventually trigger risk aversion in digital assets. Additionally, the sustainability of ETF inflows versus outflows will be critical, especially given the mixed flow data from October 5.

MARKET ANALYSIS

Bitcoin is at $84,849.00, down 0.91% over 24 hours and up 0.6% over seven days. The derived Momentum-Sentiment Composite reads +6 on a -50 to +50 scale. Buyers appear to be defending the $82,500 support level, as the asset has held above this floor despite minor intraday volatility. The current price action suggests a consolidation phase where neither side has gained decisive momentum, leaving the market in a state of equilibrium. A break above $87,500 would signal renewed buying pressure, while a failure to hold $82,500 would likely trigger a retest of the $80,500 downside target. The Fear & Greed index at 71 indicates that sentiment remains optimistic, yet the lack of significant upward movement suggests that this optimism is not yet translating into aggressive accumulation.

SCENARIOS

- Consolidation Above $82,500 (42%): Triggers: Price remains above $82,500 and fails to close above $87,500 within five trading days. Invalidation: A daily close below $82,500 or above $87,500 within five trading days.
- Breakout Toward $89,500 (17%): Triggers: Price reclaims and closes above $87,500 within five trading days, targeting $89,500. Invalidation: Price fails to sustain a close above $87,500 within five trading days.
- Downside Re-test of $80,500 (41%): Triggers: Price loses the $82,500 support level and closes below it within five trading days, targeting $80,500. Invalidation: Price recovers and closes back above $82,500 within five trading days.

KEY MARKET MOVERS

- Treasury Volatility Divergence: The MOVE index's rise to 116 contrasts with Bitcoin's low implied volatility, creating a potential lagged risk transmission channel from bonds to crypto.
- ETF Flow Mixed Signals: US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $89.8 million in net outflows on October 5, even as BlackRock's fund saw inflows, indicating fragmented institutional demand.

TOP STORIES

1. Strategy reports $4.1 billion tax benefit from Bitcoin holdings
URL: https://cryptoslate.com/bitcoin-rally-delivers-4-1-billion-tax-windfall-for-strategy
Published: 2026-10-06 05:10 PM CT
Summary: Strategy estimated a $4.1 billion income-tax benefit after its Bitcoin holdings rose above cost basis as of September 30. The company reversed a deferred tax asset and released the associated valuation allowance, though these figures remain unaudited by KPMG. Strategy held 848,000 BTC at an average purchase price of $75,440.70 as of October 4. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF held approximately 806,038 BTC with an estimated average cost of $81,188 per coin as of October 2. US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded net outflows of $89.8 million on October 5, while BlackRock's fund saw inflows during the same session.

2. Bond volatility rises while crypto and equities remain calm
URL: https://www.coindesk.com/daybook-us/2026/10/06/the-vix-of-bonds-is-rising-but-bitcoin-and-stocks-aren-t-hearing-it-yet
Published: 2026-10-06
Summary: The MOVE index, which measures U.S. Treasury yield volatility, has surged to approximately 116, approaching its March high and the highest level since April 2025. This rise in bond market stress contrasts with the VIX and Bitcoin's implied volatility gauge, both of which remain near year-to-date lows. Bitcoin trades at $84,397, down 1.31 percent, while some shitcoin sits at $2,655 and some different shitcoin at $118. Historical data shows that Treasury volatility often leads equity and crypto volatility by a lag, though Bitcoin's daily returns do not always track the MOVE index closely over short windows. Analysts warn that a spike in Treasury volatility could eventually trigger risk aversion in crypto markets, despite current support from ETF inflows and regulatory tailwinds.

Haha, hey Caps, my llm is a fan, it decided to use your fairy for its tests. Smiley

Quote
Results A:
- Vision output: correct description of dolly-fairy.jpg ("a fairy holding a sparkling wand and wings... The Wall Observer... Bitcoin symbol") — the image was actually processed ✓
- Prompt evaluation (including vision encoding): 2028 tokens in 48.26 seconds = 42.02 t/s (this includes first-run overhead + image processing)
- Generation: 34 tokens in 0.58 seconds = 57.27 t/s

Note: The prompt evaluation time may include one-time initialization (Tensile kernel selection). For fairness, run each server twice and use the second run (warm state). Also, record which GPU got bound — still haven't confirmed PCI! Grep the log for device lines... llama.cpp's HIP backend outputs something like "ggml_hip: AMD GPU #0: name". Let me check quickly during the warm-up round.

Next up is Server B (existing binary, ROCm 6.x runtime from /opt/rocm), port 8902, same card index 7 (sequential execution to avoid interference; or should I use vulkan8=GPU 8? Sequential execution on the same card is cleaner for comparison — no cross-card variance. Keep it at 7.)

Launch B: LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/aiuser/rocm-ab-test/bin-old:/opt/rocm/lib, HIP_VISIBLE_DEVICES=7, port 8902. First confirm that ldd resolves (run ldd ./llama-server | grep "not found" remotely before starting).
I've verified Server A is working correctly with proper vision output and strong performance metrics. Now I'll launch Server B using the existing binary against the remote ROCm 6.3 stack.
