Hey guys, I am interested in getting some bitcoins. I am a noob, but I believe the fastest way to do this is  to go through bit instant(Moneygram/zipzap), and transfer to Mt.Gox. I have also read that people are having a lot of problems with this, because they are entering the incorrect Mt. Gox information. On Bitinstant, Do I enter the account number, MXXXXXXXX or the six digit "Exchange Account" Number.

thanks!

It's probably easiest to just put your exchange account name, instead of your account number.

I don't think they've screwed up deposits when using the actual account name.

Alright thanks, can anyone else confirm this?

I just don't want my bitcoins to be delayed like a lot of other people had had.

thanks

If you're worried about delays, I'm not sure BitInstant is the best way to go.

I'm not sure if they fixed the issues from last week yet, but when I deposited an error showed up, and they had to manually push the transfer through.

I did get my coins in the end though.

Are there any other faster ways that you know of? I can't do bank transfer(Not sure that is faster), so what other options do I have? Are there reputable members here who would exchange?

Yea, I read a lot of negative press about BitInstant recently.

Just get some money in Dwolla then send it to Gox.

Or use BitFloor and wire it directly--shoudl be 3-5 business days.  Buy some coins at BitFloor, or wherever, then send them to Gox (or your preferred exchange) and sell there.  Same as transferring money directly.

I've used bitinstant only once and they've transferred the funds almost immediately, but this was almost a month ago (way before the bubble and ensuing panic buying). I second the use of bitfloor. Their deposit fees are slightly lower than bitinstant's (about 1-4% vs. 4%)

3-5 business days? Is that the fastest I can expect to get them in for any service i plan on using?

BitInstant took 8 days for me a couple weeks ago. Not really "Instant" - But I talked to Charlie and he got me squared away eventually.

I would be very appreciative to have your DOGES or CATS:

What do you guys think about doing a cash deposit using bitfloor at a local bank? It says I should be credited within an hour, does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks for the bitfloor suggestion.

4% fees is terrible. I would never use bitinstant.............. It completely defeats the purpose of bitcoin i.e. low transact fees.

I would not use bitinstant, there is a 33% chance your order will fail, with me its 1 out of 2 orders that failed, see https://i.imgur.com/l9Z9l5Y.png found on http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1c6ppv/survey_how_did_bitinstant_worked_out_for_you/. If the order fails, you will be without your money for weeks, so it's definitely not instant in a lot of cases. Still waiting for my money :-(
