Hi,

Finally I can ask help from some real pros. I've been stuck for the last 4 hours to be able to post here.

I have a computer with 2 cards in it. A 7970 and a 6950.

I am running GUI Miner CG Miner lite coin edit and am mining litecoins from a pool.

Heres the problem, when I run and mine on both I get the results

7970: 600+ hashes
6950: 400+ hashes

The problem is for the 7970 the shares are not being accepted on the pool while the 6950 is just fine.

I found one solution was to change the GPU Thread from 1 to 2 for the 7970. Shares started being accepted but another problem occured.
The 7970 started running between 200-400 hashes.

Any ideas or help greatly appreciated.

original thread but it's full of newbies so no one was able to help unfortunately.

Basically I am running 2 cards. A 7970 and a 6950 on 1 computer.

6950 hashes 400-450 and gets shares accepted
7970 hashes 600+ BUT no shares accepted

A fix for that is I turned the GPU Thread for the 7970 from 1 to 2.

Now the 7970 hashes 200-400 and shares are accepted.

As you can see now the problem is my hash rate is dropped by 50-75%, while it does fix the share problem, it creates a hashing problem.

Don't mean to spam

but I just wanted to also say that I've spent the past 4 hours browsing and waiting just to be able to post here.

I've done the necessary searches throughout the past 4 hours while awaiting my approval to post on other forums and have not had any luck in finding a thread with the problem resolved.

Mining LTC? I have a feeling youre not running scrypt. Can you take a screenshot of the miner up and running and post it here?

Go into show console and copy and paste the command it is trying to run when executing.

- It may help to be on a Stratum server (usually port 3333, check with your pool)

- With the 7xxx series of cards, make sure to set GPU MAX ALLOC -- open a command prompt, assuming you're using Windows (Run > CMD) and then run this:
Code:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

Try again, and report back Smiley

I'm having the same issue with my 2 Gigabyte 7970's.  They are replacing 2 Sapphire 7950's.  Mining for LTC.  The 7950's hash away, and shares are accepted - no problem.  I replace them with 7970's, and it shows that it's hashing; however no shares ever accepted.

Using
- Cgminer 2.11.4
- Catalyst 13.3 Beta (also tried 13.1)
- AMD SDK 2.8
- Windows 8
- Mining P2Pool 11.3
- Tried all settings with Cgminer (deleted bins, no overclock, all settings on auto, also tried various Thread Concurrences & overclock settings)
- No hardware errors show

Both Gigabyte 7970's behave in the same manner.  I'm at a loss to why they hash, but do not find any shares.  Currently using the 7950's and it's working as it should.  Also, I should mention that I have a Sapphire 7970 Dual-x mining without issue on windows 8.

--EDIT
I should also note that I have the following settings placed in my .bat file.  Also confirmed in global variables.
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

--EDIT 2
I resolved the "No accepted shares" by adjusting the Thread Concurrency to 8192.  I initially left the TC settings blank in the .bat file (per ckolivas instructions) to see what the maximum TC cgminer discovered.  The cgminer discovered TC was 4032.  I thought it was low, but I started at this point.  Using this low number for TC caused all the problems.

On another note, the Gigabyte 7970 cards get waayyyyy too hot, and the voltage is locked, so I can't undervolt.  My sapphire cards have a superior cooling system.

That is the issue. One you which it toe GPU threads 2 you need to drop the thread concurrency to 8192 and make sure your intensity isnt higher that 13
