I have recently tried to buy bitcoins and was irked with the amount of validation needed to aquire said coins (from USA). Is it paranoid to think there is a database to translate bitcoin addresses to people?
Please correct me if I am wrong here - The blockchain ledger contains all transactions. By linking a person to a bitcoin address you can see all of that persons transactions. One such way to link this is to gather personal information before allowing said person to purchase bitcoins.
The only anonymous transactions possible now is by mining coins, and mining to a different bitcoin address at regular intervals.
Do you think this design was intentional? I would rather see corporate and goverment ledgers, instead of an individual's ledger.
Mail me cash. I'll send you bitcoins. Problem solved. You have your anonymity.
