I believe it is possible to trade Bitcoins anywhere, on a trading floor (like the stock market) or person-to-person (for example, at a restaurant to pay the bill, everyone can send their bitcoins to one designated person who pays the bill in cash). On the other hand, you don't need a trading floor, since Bitcoin is more like a pure Internet currency (or commodity) with no historical roots in trading floors like shares of stock have.
