does anyone know why of the reduction in trading volume altcoin in poloniex and bittrex ?
There is so many to be considered on what is the cause of the reduction of trading volume in exchange, first thing is the price changes of bitcoin and other factors that can be considered are transferring of alt coin to other exchange that offer a high volume of the particular coin. |

care to give us some numbers? in the morning when i opened my bittrex account the daily volume (at the bottom of the page besides bitcoin price) was 800 bitcoin and it is still as high as any other day which is between this and 1000 bitcoin daily. where do you see this drop in volume? |

did you talking about major altcoins or only the particular altcoins because poloniex and bittrex as the big exchange altcoins and volume support at there still normally especially poloniex currently they have over than 6000 bitcoin and over than 10k ETH every 24 hours however provide to us the name which altcoins that you means

cause those exchanges became old. investors are tired to "play" only with makor altcoin where most fun is on minor altcoinson. just look at yobit where most coins goes. check their volume.
bittrex,poloniex years ago listed basically every coins, and their volume was 20x higher.
then they decide to list only a few altcoins, and their volume drop, user left.
btc price and transactions is so high cause there are altcoins.

which coin's volume did drop? the total volume of both of these exchanges are the same, and sometimes it goes a big down (like 10% lower) and then comes back up (10% higher) because some days there are more and bigger pumps. and individual coins when they die or when their pumps stops their volume drops a lot. you have to say a name of a coin so that we can analyze it better. |

People are waiting to see what happens with bitcoin's ETF. Makes sense to just hold BTC and wait. Alts tend to sink as BTC rises, so it is a risk at the moment to invest in an alt just before the ETF decision is made.
I expect normal activity will resume after March 11th.

ussualy if bitcoin price incraese high altcoin trader can move to bitcoin trading, because want take profit and saving bitcoin asset to fiat money

I see the market are reduced, besides the market ETH, XMR , MAID again which markets? the altcoins you named (ETH, XMR, MAID) and lots of others are the top coins that are being traded daily. these big coins always have a much higher volume compared to others. the rest of the altcoins, specially those that are smaller (e.g. less than 1 BTC volume) have a nice ride while they are being pumped and then die, with their volume go down to zero. also in all markets without exception when price is not changing, meaning a stable phase, volume drops because simply there are less trades being made. |

This is a simple thing to explain, people don't want to be holding shitcoins when Bitcoin price is increasing. I think this year is the year that will put an end to most Altcoins tokens especially those with no or little think to offer in the space

I think it is make sense. Peoples start loving new altcoins and maybe little bored with old altcoin that have stable price. They moves their investment and play with some new born coins which is can't be trade on Poloniex. . |

you are answering to a question from exactly one month ago and you are giving a wrong answer too. when bitcoin moves up or down the volume sometimes shifts to bitcoin market and the altcoin market's volume go down. but this is not what always happens. most of the times when altcoin volumes drop is because the big/top coins are having some stable time to accumulate. if you look at the volumes now you can see how it has gone up because two of the biggest altcoins are getting pumped these days. |

Look in this stage where the bitcoin price is too high comparing with the price of last year then people are trying to spend as less as possible their bitcoin, why should I spend bitcoins to altcoin in this stage when the bitcoin price is increasing and because of this the exchange rate of altcoins keeps dropping and there is no profit, it may have a higher value in fiat but that's not what we are looking for, we are focused increasing the bitcoins. |

You are right the volume is really low for many altcoin. But not for all. Nearly all the volume is at ETH, DASH and XMR now. 110.000 BTC for ETH, 30.000 BTC for DASH and 20.000 BTC for XMR today. Which means nearly more than 90% total volume of Polo. That is why other coins don't have enough volume.
