Whoops. Looks like BU team cannot get anything done without Core team.

Next time anyone pretends to think turning bitcoin into an ETH/ETC armageddon is a good idea, remember about how not only you will crash the thing into 2 different coins that will never recover, but you are doing this by gambling with a team of amateurs that are lightyears away from Core. Wise up.
Bitcoin + segwit + LN = the future. BUcoin = delusional amateurism.

All experts agree:

So let's get this done, or keep complaining about bitcoin's lack of updates.

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Majority of nodes run segwit supported bitcoin core nodes, so it all comes down to the dumb ass miners to realize their mistake, but since they are technologically illiterate and just think as meathead businessmen, it will take time for them to realize the damage that anyone not aiming for segwit + lightning network is doing to bitcoin in the long term. Anyone supporting BU in 2017 is out of their mind. I wish we could get over with this nightmare and move no. Once we get segwit + LN and possibly more cool stuff coming soon for further scaling we can conquer the world. They know this so they will keep using the divide and conquer method on the community to guarantee bitcoin never fully takes off.

I'd also like to point out the fact that Etherium users are already on an altcoin so they'll probably be willing to go to ETC (an altcoin based on the altcoin they were using) more that bitcoin users would be willing to use a altcoin/fork of bitcoin.

I'm starting a technology blog T4CH.top, check it out!

Does the fact that the people behind LN are lying cunts have anything to do with the fact that miners don't want to join them?

The miners are just doing everything in their power to protect their profits. They seem to think that the miners fees will be diminished with the

implementation of SegWit and LN. I think implementing scaling options will actually increase the fees with mainstream adoption, because more

people will start using Bitcoin. They could also change their income model by supporting the off-blockchain transactions.  Huh

They may not like their profit statements if they fork into oblivion or find themselves subjected to a PoW change.

The hints people who've met the big players seem to be dropping is that a fair few are either uninterested or uneducated in the matters at hand. I cannae believe that people who've muscled their way into being the backbone of an experimental and speculative project don't have the foresight to look beyond their next electricity bill.

Wrong, people behind LN are not lying, the answer is rather simple: Miners want money, that's all. They don't give a flying fuck about bitcoin, if they did, they would signal for segwit so the development can continue, but all they want is profits, anything that diminishes profits will be ignored for them, thats why neither segwit or BUcoin will ever get activated if things continue like this.

Next time anyone pretends to think turning bitcoin into an ETH/ETC armageddon is a good idea, remember about how not only you will crash the thing into 2 different coins that will never recover,

now lets see who actually wants to split the network and thought ethereums intentional split was a good thing

What you are describing is what I and others call a bilateral hardfork-- where both sides reject the other.

I tried to convince the authors of BIP101 to make their proposal bilateral by requiring the sign bit be set in the version in their blocks (existing nodes require it to be unset). Sadly, the proposals authors were aggressively against this.

The ethereum hardfork was bilateral, probably the only thing they did right--

its core that love altcoins... yea they call them "sidechains" but wash away the buzzwords and the truth is revealed.

its the MANY non-core dev teams that want to keep the network together. as one by asking for real consensus. which core have bypassed, avoided and dismissed the notion of, and back-tracked away from agreeing to
