Rise of decentralized exchanges is inevitable and that will be era where Bancor will be on driving seat. Bancor by design fits perfectly in current cryptocurrencies economical system as well as in future's that's why it is called true bridge. I still am waiting for fiat gateway to connect all the economies through Bancor.

Bancor experienced a significant security breach in July 2018 where a wallet used to upgrade smart contracts was compromised, resulting in a loss of $23.5 million. Although Bancor immediately admitted to what happened and was able to recover $10 million because it could pause the smart contracts on the protocol, it also highlighted that the network is not decentralized as it could lose or freeze customer funds.
Not to contradict, but to clarify, Bancor does not hold users' private keys and cannot access customer funds.

I understood. Now for me to understand very basic way about transaction fee and withdrawal. Does the transaction fee vary depending on the crypto I am operating and the withdrawal rate also varies? And to make a withdrawal from Bancor, do I have to have Ether or BNT in my wallet or not?

Transaction and withdrawal fees do, indeed, fluctuate relative to the activity in the market. Though it's worth mentioning these fees aren't Bancor's ones but gas fees due to congestion in the Ethereum network. Also, in order to make a withdrawal you just need to have any of the supported currencies in your wallet.

I signed up to the Bancor exchange to trade a small amount of Loctrip (LOC), just to test out Bancor. I depositing what I thought should have been enough Ether to cover selling costs but the sale would not go through as it complained there was not enough ETH to cover GAS, so I asked on the Bancor telegram channel what would be minimum amount of ETH and an admin said 0.02 ETH should cover it - WOW ! at current prices that's about $4.00 (USD), when it only cost me about $0.03 (USD) to transfer the ETH to Bancor. Now I know it's not just a simple transaction but $4.00 worth ?

Hello Bambi, yes that's a common story. While the 0.02 ETH is only a recommendation, and likely will not be entirely used, it keeps one from having the risk of a failed transaction due to insufficient funds. The transactions on the Bancor Network are quite computationally intense, and must be completed quickly in order to function properly. That's why the gas price can be so high relative to what one might consider normal.

What a news! Super!!!
And someone already tried the platform? I understand that it works on the test EOS network. That is, I can try it on my account (without any changes in the balance in the main network)? I'm right?
