I've seen a lot of people arguing that Bitcoin can be profitable because of its volatility and convenience, but sometimes I feel that people using Bitcoin as an investment have little enthusiasm for its main use as a means of trading without an intermediary.

Under what circumstances should Bitcoin be treated as investment and to what extent should people think about its use as a global currency?

They have the full right in doing whatever they wanted with their bitcoins. There are many kinds of people and there are no two individuals are alike - even if they are twins, that is the fact. So, when an individual is trying to use bitcoin solely for investment, it is really fine.

I think it's reasonable since bitcoin have high value and ever reach as high as gold so whenever who invest into bitcoin , they already made a great choice for their future investment.
By seeing bitcoin value based on graph , bitcoin become the great investment I've ever see compare gold
When the bitcoin started we were all talking about a new currency that is going to change the whole idea of using the money on the internet, but after a couple of years the price was really high that it has become more of an investment and people saving and buying it, and the ones who believed in it a long time ago are really lucky.
it's really about how a new era of currency work , the high price won't make it stopped considered as a real currency. it could be a new trend, just the matter of time whether people can accept bitcoin condition with its volatility? or bitcoin will gone as a virtual stock forever? the decision are always in our hand so just make your own choice and let's see.
There are not only one person who handle bitcoin we are all who handle with bitcoin like you said the decision is in our hand if bitcoin will be still alive or not.. but for now its impossible that bitcoin will be gone in industry.. since many website and company right now are accepting bitcoin as payment and there are some country that actually accepting bitcoin as local currency.. the price increase is not a problem since the price is slowly increase yearly.

These people has insights and very optimistic. They see the future of bitcoin at it is very profitable to them. Since bitcoin is considered as a digital financial instrument, these people who invest knows what really going online and they are taking a chance. I think it is well paying off as the bitcoin price continue to increased.

I'm not sure about whether in future anyone will accept bitcoins as a primary currency but confident that it will survive for a long time any an alternative currency to buy thing online. As of now in my country, I can't purchase anything from bitcoins, so I usually use ATM cards to convert my bitcoins to cash by paying some fee to these companies. But still I consider bitcoins are good for investment perspective as of now because I made a decent profit from it.

i am choosing bitcoin as the best investment for now and i want to collect more bitcoin in my wallet. i am sure that in future, when there are many store online and offline is accepted bitcoin for the payment, bitcoin will be used as currency like fiat and people can used bitcoin to buy something like they used fiat because we know that the technology is growing too fast and this is a good chance for bitcoin in future.

Bitcoin as an investment may sound a little bit out there if someone said that to a person who knew nothing about the coin. If you look at the price right now it's at $1,168.33 if we look at the USD version and the people that invested when it was $1,157.4 in 2013 made their money back with interest.

I think those people who treat bitcoin as an investment are those kind of person that will succeed in the long term because if you think bitcoin is an investment and not a piece of trading tool then you will not worry about the price and you will just go with the flow and somehow you will earn a lot of money since you are not doing short term investment because a real investors always do long terms and most of the times they just do buy and after a few months or year they will just sell and buy back again.

As of now in my country, I can't purchase anything from bitcoins, so I usually use ATM cards to convert my bitcoins to cash by paying some fee to these companies. But still I consider bitcoins are good for investment perspective as of now because I made a decent profit from it.

And that is exactly the reason why many people use bitcoin rather as an investment, because as an instrument for payments, it is still not very handy. I can't either buy almost anything here in my country with bitcoin and converting bitcoins to fiat is quite slow and with high fees.
Also, what we saw during last few days, when there was over 100k of unconfirmed transactions and confirmation took long hours and even days, it also didn't help a lot.

It is the worst decision . Depending on bitcoin solely will land that person into trouble.
The prices of bitcoin keep fluctuating a lot. He might earn very less.
Like if he is buying bitcoins at cheaper rates then selling them when the prices rise,
He might not make much profit. He might not have enough money for his basic needs .
And a day will come when he will have nothing left. So it's better to have a regular job.
Than just depending on bitcoin. Using bitcoin as a secondary wage is much preferable than making it a primary wage.

i would have laughed at the subject of bitcoin being only an investment it a while back, but ever since the size of mempool reached its all time highs and i paid $0.96 for my latest transaction i no longer laugh but cry for the future of bitcoin if it is only going to be an investment.

I think people who use Bitcoin solely as an investment have no obligation to use it otherwise. Since they've bought it with their money it's their right to use it in whatever way they want. For example some people use rare artworks as an investment and I don't blame them for that.

You may think that bitcoin investors may be little less enthusiastic about its progress, but I must point out that these investors are basically the people with a long term goal. I consider myself as an investor of bitcoin instead of a spender. because I know bitcoin can fetch me a much higher return in future if I can keep them safe with me.

However, I am also an active bitcoin earner and I earn from various sources. But I don't spend my bitcoin for silly reasons. If I have any emergency, then I cash out a percentage of my bitcoin holdings to support my finance. But definitely not for mobile recharge or grocery spending.

yeah i am quite agree with you every user has right to do what ever he wants or how he wants to use bitcoin. bitcoin is a free currency and everyone use it how he wants to use many people arround the world use it only for the investment purpose and i think it is a right decision because the way it is increasing its price day by day it is the best source of investment and people will get profit by doing so

my concern always on how a currency like bitcoin have a huge value compared to any other currency, common people would feel so worry with that condition. merchant could make a rejection anytime once they feel bitcoin aren't fit anymore to the world financial and how most currency works. i hope that scenario would never ever happened , with the volatility and high price it's make bitcoin used as investment rather than a currency.

Yup right maybe it may lead them to less being an enthusiast. However they did use it in the firdt place and continue using it. Just like the other type of user who only uses it for trading or for transaction purpose

As I can see bitcoin value increase every year so I can consider bitcoin as investation but risky one compare if I'm invest on gold.
Bitcoin also amaze me since I can made greater profit rather than I'm invest on gold so just keep holding bitcoin and see bitcoin grow exponentially on next few year ahead

Well everyone has it's way of using things. If they only use it for that there's nothing that we can do about it.
I am happy that more people are using the Bitcoin, even if it is only solely for investing.
