I was wondering about this. What if the universe is like a blockchain, and things don't really happen until they have been confirmed somehow and then everything builds up on top of itself and one event bring us to the another?

The core would be the big bang (capital B blockchain, bitcoin's blockchain) then sidechains would form around this core.

Maybe other universes exists and are like hard forked core's.

Quantum particles that are temporarily in 2 places until an observer observes it or something, would be like the offchain LN transactions, then they get confirmed and the information goes on the main blockchain.

No i didn't smoke anything.

...
Interesting observations!

Yes, in a way the universe is like a blockchain.
The Bitcoin Genesis Block would be the equivalent to what caused our Big Bang.

IMO other universe's existence would be equivalent to an Altcoin blockchain,
unless it's creation is from a blackhole or other within our universe, which
would then be like a hardforked universe from our universe/blockchain.

IMO sidechains must be other dimensions within our own universe.

IMO with your LN example, that LN chain should be in another dimension and
not within normal space with us, so that when the LN tx is observed and "appears"
within our space (confirmed within a BTC block), it doesn't come from outside of
our universe since that would be impossible (that we know of).

So, in a funny way, your musings has led to a comparison that the LN or other
such layers are actually a higher dimensional space of the Bitcoin Network itself
and not an Altcoin universe.

I support a decentralized & unregulatable ledger first, with safe scaling over time.

I personally do not think that the universe is in any way like Bitcoin; there are no blocks to confirm, no transactions to log, no ledger to view and see what is happening beyond the small slice of information we receive through light and radiation.

I also find no use for any "multiverse" theory, as there's nothing to prove that theory beyond quantum mechanics, and even those just demonstrate the change measurements have on reality. It's speculation for the most part and any sort of "each choice makes a new universe" theory means that literally every single picosecond an infinity-1 amount of universes are created.

I would like to think of the world as a blockchain.
Where every little thing affects everything else around it.
Just like in real life and in nature.

Technically TIME is the BlockChain.

The Transactions in each Block , is the Current State of reality.  Wink

Funny thing , in the Future they study how Blockchains Forked as a comparison , of the effects that a time traveler has when going into the past.
The ripple effect the traveler causes, is similar to the coin age calculation of Proof of Stake.  Wink
Merged Mining is used to study similarities to Parallel universes.
(Standard College courses on it , in ~ 30 years or so.)  Wink

In time travel, the traveler going into the past is always the cause of the divergence that causes a fork.
If the effects of the fork diverge too greatly from the previous chain of events, then the time traveler wipes out his reality, and the new chain takes over.
So yes, if you kill your grandfather in the past , your future self is never born.

Also the further you go back in time travel , is comparable to the increased difficulty of performing a history rewrite of a blockchain.
The time traveler needing an ever increasing amount of energy to match the temporal resistance, and the blockchain requiring an ever increasing difficulty to be overcome.

satoshi QT would be the bigbang (in your story)

core would be the invention of religion trying to change things and confuse people as to how the way of life should be.
pretending they have been around since the beginning and their rule is law, their preachers are law and everyone should follow their religion

It's funny how you use whatever you can to throw your blockstream fud propaganda. Sounds like the only cultists is you by thinking satoshi was jesus christ himself.

Sorry but satoshi fucked up numerous times as we are seeing along the way, case in point:

Looks like god's big bang needs fixing.

im a big bang / evolution / science guy..

i dont follow people who "trust on faith" or follow people "on faith"

have a read on this as a viable opinion to how religion manipulated the truth of human evolution with their religious 'stories'.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1600477.msg17797892#msg17797892

i dont hold anyone up as jesus.. that is the other guys kissing gmaxwells ass..

i am a realist who was just saying that core didnt jump in until 2013. yep it was called satoshi-qt before core..
core was not around in 2009-2013.

sorry to burst your bubble

though i know you have pasted an article baiting me to defend satoshi, so you can fail at proclaiming im religious satoshi follow.. i prefer to deal with facts

so lets deal with facts
if you read the article. and read the paper.
you will see that the article is using the scenario of today (mining asics variation) but back in 2009 the assumption was 1 computer 1 miner.

so satoshis white paper of 1 cpu 1 miner results in his assumptions.
yes satoshis paper is out dated because things have moved on. but that doesnt make the past wrong. it just makes it outdated.

(yes the article is about the luck of 'time' of the blocks, im well ahead of that mathematics and scenario which then funnily enough, circles back to BLOCK-height security(confirm count) making time (their argument) moot)

Quote
Grunspan does allow, however, that simplifying assumptions in a white paper is also understandable.
