There is a thread outside the newbie area where you can post your ripple address and get 1k coins.

Why are there so many people on here begging?
We can safely assume that most people on here did not hop on the Ripple bandwagon soon enough, what makes you think anyone will have XRP to give away?
Maybe a moderator, but not a jr. member, much less newbies.
But is it worth a shot? Maybe

I find it strange how all 100.000.000.000 ripples have been created allready. And Bitcoins are mined using extreme CPU power.
Maybe I should read some papers on ripple but I would reckon it can't be as save as bitcoins

Just read that Opencoin gives out free XRP to all account holders. Any idea how that works?

It's for the very first batch of beta testers. Most of you not included.

I wouldnt say love but rather ignore. Does the ripple have any practical use?
