hahaha simply trying to fund the running and development of the site.... Why so negative? When the site is fully complete I will take the CoinURL links off. I do not like them myself but there is no other way at the minute. Just be patient and positive ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) Good thinks take time! Andy B

Can someone fill a newbie in with regards to all these 'Free giveaway bitcoin' sites? You give them your email address along with a BTC address and they send you advertising for the chance to win in these giveaways?

On my hourly faucet, you input your wallet address (if you dont own a wallet follow the instructions on the homepage on how to get one), then at the end of every day (3 days at the VERY latest) you will get some Bitcoin sent to your wallet completely free ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Also check out the FREE BitCoin page on the site for MANY links to other sites like mine! The CoinURL links are going as soon as possible:) It is just helping withe the development costs of the site at the moment. I have some VERY big ideas for the site which will benefit every Bitcoin beginner ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Andy B

As a relative newcomer this makes adapting even more difficult and confusing for some. At present I am only holding what little bitcoin I have and trying to figure everything out little by little.

I think everything you need to start mining BTC is right here on these forums. Just read a bit and you'll find a lot of useful information that these startup newcomer sites can't give you. With the value of BTC right now and with the difficulty rise, why would anybody give out BTC? Even in uBTC. Even if it is legitimate, the catch is probably that I'll have thousands of emails in my spam folder, or someone trying to get my wallet from me. I don't necessarily trust it either way. I would need substantial proof from someone other than bennett616. Just because BTC got popular within the last week doesn't mean we need the spam either. Find another corner of the internet to exploit, please.

It is such a shame that there is so much b... out there and those of us who are new and looking to learn have to dig through so much trash to find real information.

Firstly MY SITE IS NOT FOR PROFIT!!! As i have said in the past..... the site has been online for 8 days.... only 8 days, i have been working long hours everyday to get this done. I am setting up this site for BTC beginners to help with the process of getting involved with Bitcoin. I am 19, a student and unemployed (also suffer from severe depression).... I have made this site with about £50 which i have really struggled to get. I have made this site out of my own interest in BTC and my own hopes that BTC will be a success. My idea is that the more people that use bitcoin and understand it... The better for the BTC community and the currency value, security and integrity. I am truly trying to help bitcoin as a whole.... why are people so negative about other people ideas that are going to give BTC more exposure and concrete the value oof BTC? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) The CoinURL links will be gone as soon as i have enough BTC to run the site without them, i agree, they are annoying but i would like to see you guys create a BTC help site with not much money and try to get it off the ground. Thank you for the continuous support of the sensible BTC users that see the benefit off my site for the whole community. Andy B

I've done the faucet two or three time... after seeing the link to the site in a facebook group. Love an hourly faucet. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I quite like the site. I'm not a beginner, so it was easy for me to just skim over the information, but it's a nice, succinct compilation. The list of free bitcoin sites itself appears much cleaner than just a straight list of links, which is often what you'll find. And the brief starter info with links to the bitcoin client software on the homepage is a good touch. A suggestion for the Get Bitcoin part on the home page: perhaps it could link to another page describing the complexities of purchasing bitcoin with USD and maybe even explaining why the process is so complex in the first place (most due to regulations over fiat currencies). I suggest this because i found a lot of frustration in trying to buy bitcoin until i understood why it is so difficult. With that understanding, it doesn't bother me so much and now i'm shifting my focus to earning bitcoin by accepting it as payment. I honestly think it is a good start and didn't see anything "scammy" about it. Then again, i've seen coinurl enough to know why people are using it. (I've been trying to think of ways around that because i really don't want to use it for my site.) I believe their distrust is either due to a lack of understanding, some past experience they've yet to release, or they're just trolling. Either way, their negativity is their own choice. Money does not have such a value as men have placed upon it. Keep up the good work, mate. You're doing just fine. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Andy B I'm not saying that it's for profit, but that for many sites like these there is an ulterior motive to offering free bitcoins. While offering uBTC is really not profitable for anybody, I just don't see why giving bitcoins away can help, given that the community has recently exploded in the last week. It may help spark interest, and I do congratulate you on that, but I am just wary on all of these new sites that have spawned in the last week. Plus the supposed company scams and all. It's just hard to trust anybody on the internet who offers anything free or worthwhile without thinking there's something behind the curtains. I've been around BTC for a while and I've been seeing scam sites since 2011. I'm not trying to bust your chops, I'm just a skeptic. As long as you get tutorials set up for a various number of topics/miners/software, etc., your site will be super helpful for beginners.

If new sites of all sorts weren't popping up, wouldn't that just mean that bitcoin is stagnant? That no one was interested? New sites means new people are interested. It's up to personal discernment when it comes to which sites to trust. As for giving away free bitcoin, even free uBTC... philanthropy is a real thing. Some people are just generous. It's often those who have the least, that share the most. It comes from knowing what it's like to have nothing or close to it, and emerging from that experience with compassion instead of greed.

Sorry for the newbie question, but what is a CoinURL link? Is it just a link to a site that offers free Bitcoins? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) CoinURL ( https://coinurl.com/ ) is a site similar to other URL shortening sites, except with a coinurl link, you receive a small amount of bitcoin when someone clicks on your link. When they click on the link, they are shown an ad of another site. After a few seconds, a "skip ad" button appears and they can carry on to the site. I think they have to actually follow through to the site they were trying to get to in order for you to get the bitcoin for their click tho, but i'm not sure on this part. Hope that helps. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
