They are offering snapchat IPO. So do you think it will take off or bomb like so many tech ones in the past? They are expecting it to be good to buy at the beginning since it is used by the media and celebrities. They cashing in now then will just sell it off when it starts to lose to a new one coming out in the near future. That is the reason for IPO's being offered by companies at the start isn't it? To get as much money as possible when it has the publics attention near the beginning. What do you think of this new offering in the tech sector?

Im not sure, it may be like altcoins, the coins that get IPOs usually get insta dumped... wasnt twitter stock supposed to be a big success too? im too lazy to check the graphic history but I heard the twitter stock went really bad, same for facebook. Snapchat seems really trendy among all the kids these days who knows how much the trend will last.

Its the biggest US tech IPO ever since Facebook, however, basing on the few Tech IPO, only Facebook has manage to be successful. Twitter is a failure. So If I'm a investor, I would be too wary to invest on any Tech IPO because the risk are very high. The legacy of Twitter's failure is maybe in the minds of a lot of investor that focus on tech investing.

It is general trend that investors always gain while investing in reputed IPOs. So from the view of investors, its good opportunity to make some quick profits by buying in primary market and selling in secondary market once IPO ends. While from the view of company, i don't feel name like Snapchat will face any difficulty reaching minimum subscription. So on the whole, IPO will success for sure!

I am apparently too old for Snapchat, my little sisters have told me that they use it, but it seems to me like it's USP is that the messages disappear after a certain aamount of time (tell me when I am talking crap), but you cana take a screenshot making the whole ideaa pointless...
A pointless idea isn't worth $20billion in my opinion, so I don't think it will be a success. Where and how will they make profit?
Facebook is actually doing pretty well, the adverts are actually sometimes worth a click too. I don'T know enough about Snapchat, or think that it is ubiquitous enough to justify it's high value.

The problem with twitter IPO was that it was over priced and it underperformed on hitting the market and the valuation was over hyped and so is the reason it bombed in the exchange and this might happen with the case of snapchat too as they are over hyping the valuation of the stock.

I think this is the way we could treat it, as a way to make money fast and that is it, I think it is just a fad, eventually a newer service will appear that will be used by the newest generation and then snapchat will fade into obscurity like so many other platforms.

Personally, I think that the Snapchat IPO is going to start off pretty well. Since there is a large amount of people (usually younger people) the IPO will get pretty expensive. With the popularity of the Alibaba IPO the price went up because there was many adults using the shopping website so it didn't require much research to see that the IPO was an easy moneymaker. This will be interesting, kids don't really dwell into the stock market but with more people getting into Bitcoin and Wall Street -it makes more sense that there should be more money flowing into stocks.

What do you mean by success?
Are you talking about the stock price or the company?
The stock price will probably jump and then fall (over time of course). The company will survive, and most likely it'll be acquired for the account book and maybe the technology, although much more for the account book.

It is a scam just like scam coins. Greedy companies and developers are so focused on profit rather than giving service to the community. They dont care and dont take into considerations the hard work and effort of people to earn their money. They will offer their coins without even seeing the aspect of success but the picture of them having profit. If people are stupid in grabbing those coins then they will be another victim of scams online. Instead of investing on this IPO's and ICO's then just spend it on bitcoins that way you will not end up crying.

I really don't feel a good vibe about snapchat ipo because it is not popular like facebook or twitter. Also the merchant banker valued snapchat at 22.2 billion USD which I feel is overvalued than its worth. Their valuation should not have reached 2-digits valuation while counting in billion. So I have a very bad feeling about those who will buy their ipo.
The share price is capped at $14-$16 which is higher than the expected. However, I will prefer to watch it for couple of months and then probably decide to buy or not to buy once the price stabilizes. IPO will not be a good idea for buying snapchat shares.

Snapchat has a very huge loyal niche and it keeps growing. It will positively be a big success one day. As far as I know FB stock had a bad performance the first few months but the price picked up and is now doing ok. And if Ethereum can do well why not a more legitimate platform like Snapchat?

There are some red flags in Snapchat’s IPO filings - massive losses, decelerating user growth, 0 voting rights etc. So I personally have doubts about demand for the $25B valuation.

I agree now that they are saying that Snap Inc stole all their ideas from instagram among others. Isn't that what the Winklevosses were fighting for with Zukerberg in the first place before going into the stratoesphere of the next offering of a bitcoin ETF?

Snapchat stock opened at $17.
Its at $27 now.
I think most of its investment is coming from media groups looking to centralize and consolidate.
If not for that, I doubt snapchat's stock would be worth anything.

Very strange. We will see how it plays out. Facebook did good too, but Twitter is doing bad... why? I dont know. I think twitter is bigger than facebook nowadays. Stocks seem so fucking random, specially when it comes to social media related stocks. I think snapchat will be like your average pump and dump altcoin..

The snapchat IPO may well be like facebook overpriced then dropping off before stabilizing and building some value. I would say its worth thinking about investing at a lower price point once the big hands decide their positions, of course having some initial position is the safe bet for price appreciation. In case it doesn't collapse and just rises, if it does crash then getting in is good.

It is a massive scam. In my opinion, Snapchat is not even worth $5 billion. Investors are ignoring the risks which are associated with snapchat. Applications such as Spanchat rarely remains popular for more than a couple of years. After that, they tend to get replaced by some other application. Look at what happened to Orkut and Myspace.

That figure is outrageous and I think they need a re-evaluation and perhaps consideration because their idea is even being disputed as having come from Instagram.
