Been lurking on here for awhile now, figured I'd make a post.

Looking for the most stable and secure wallet.
I was using my bitfloor account to hold everything, but they just went down for good apparently. Got my money out so that was nice.

I started with blockchain.info and it's very good, security is also good but now I'm using a wallet at CEX.IO.

The most secure wallet should be offline wallets and paper wallets.
When created and maintained correctly, you don't need to worry about  hacking, malware, server downtime, etc.

I use Blockchain.info for the coins that I want to have access to everwhere. On my mobile phone the Bitcoin Wallet (works great with QR-codes!) from the Android Play Store. The rest you store on a safe computer with the QT client (make sure to backup your keys and safe them in a secure place!).

Blockchain.info wallets accessed via browser are still, as far as I know, vulnerable to Javascript exploits. It is highly recommended that you keep the majority of your coins on a desktop wallet, preferably in cold storage.

The best way so far are to secure walet your own by making a backup file and save it in external storage and away from the internet, as if still connected to the internet then there will be cookies that could be misused

That's not necessarily true. 3rd party web wallet (Instawallet, Inputs.IO, Coinbase) < Online wallet (Blockchain.info) < Desktop wallet (Electrum, Multibit, Core).

Heads up: 3rd party wallets like Coinbase are not real wallets. They are held by a 3rd party. Those bitcoins are not under your control. This defeats the "trustless" nature of bitcoin. If you don't control the private keys, you don't control the bitcoins.

i thought in coinbase we can control private keys like we have done in blockchain.info
i never use it before
so i think we must avoid coinbase if we want full control of our keys

No I'm pretty sure you don't have control over any private kes - all you have is your account so if they decide to close it for some reason you'll lose access to all of your funds. Guys if you're storing anything more than BTC2 I would suggest you just buy a Pi for $30 and set up a cold storage signing system using Armory/Electrum. Doesn't cost a lot to have a secure system implemented.

Well i personally using blockchain, it's nice for a hot wallet, especially the android apps. I feel safer when i access my wallet through my phone than through my laptop

Only put money on online wallets that you are willing to lose.

Store your savings offline with something like the Armory wallet or generating your own public/private key with VanityGen or at the very least use the standard client and encrypt your wallet.

For spending money you can use online wallets like blockchain.info or any of the other established exchanges. I keep a few BTC on MtGox for spending money.

Since all that happened with Mt GOx, what do you use now for spending money?
