Um, the article linked by OP was from January last year.  Undecided

It's not dead, well at least not yet. Even the past PBOC meeting didn't cause a large plunge as expected. Still, having to watch out about the ETF thingie people are talking about. It could have a larger impact than the Chinese exchanges allowing withdrawals again.

Why would I believe that bitcoin is dead and it has fallen,
If we could still use it and it still have a value .

Pure FUD, this article is over year old, written as a result of Haern's rage quit. Bitcoin's price at that time IIRC was around $400.
Today we are standing on $1130 with aim to break ATH, pretty good for a dying currency, don't you think?
There is no denying that BTC has problems, it maybe not the best and most efficient global payment method/currency.
But it succeeded as store of value asset, and for me it is satisfactory result.

Of course BTC its not dead or dying but that doesnt mean that the argument of the article is totally wrong, there are issues that need to be fixed, it wont be so easy i believe.

Why do you come up with a thread which is really old and post this here when the price of bitcoin is soaring above $1100. How do you determine if the coin is dead there wont be any significant changes and do you really think that is the case with bitcoin. Roll Eyes Start a thread which is relevant rather than an old story. Tongue

What? A currency that is declared dead is worth 1097$ per Coin. Maybe we can say it is dead, or being dead is a good thing meaning it is a rarer type of currency. But Bitcoin right now with an active demand for it cannot be declared dead as it is being use right now for different transactions from buying games to the conversion of Fiat, I won't consider it to be dead because until now the demand is growing everyday.
Even if they are right and bitcoin is in bad shape can you imagine what the price will be when bitcoin is in top shape, when the problems of scalability, the high gees and the speed of transactions get resolved the price will at least double overnight.

I don't see any reason for bitcoin to be dead, the price still keep on rising and the transaction volume is quite high, many shops already started to adopt bitcoin payment, so bitcoin usage is keep on increasing, so the news of bitcoin is dead is not true, there are still so many people supporting bitcoin

Say that again, I guess the doomsayers are now eating a humble pie and I hope they don't miss the train this time around.

Just dont mind them it is just Mike Hearns opinion and prediction. Though his opinion is falsified but still it reminds us that this possibility will not go away. The only way to make it impossible to happen is for us to continue promoting bitcoins until it reach One Hundred Thousand Dollars and if we have reached that bracket it is much more stable and far from ending up dying.

You may wonder why we have so many bitcoin bashing articles and so few praising it. From the same reason when you watch TV you see mostly gruesome and disturbing news.
These stories are staple money making/selling point/click bait for any newspaper, TV channel, news portal.
It is easier to construct bullshit story about bitcoin being used by criminals and failing because some developer got tired and rage quit.
Presenting truth, that BTC is relatively stable and doing fine is boring, who would want to read that story?

No one, but at the same time to think that all of those articles are just a way to attract attention is not the full story, it is very obvious there is an agenda against bitcoin and they are trying to scare away the average person, because if the average person adopts bitcoin then it is game over.
