[LTC] Litecoin short and long term speculation?

LTC price is $3.83 or 0.00358BTC by the time i am typing this.

can the 2015 0.033BTC price for litecoin be repeated once again? what can we expect in the short term and long term for litecoin price?

Yeah it can. SegWit just a simple hype and it's not give something is new for the litecoin. basically just try to adopt the bitcoin fail feature.

I currently have zero litecoins, but my plan is to jump in once when I feel a good moment. This time LTC is risky investment but jump in with 2 - 2,5 BTC max is safe zone.

And I dont expect big price movements. 0.0075 - 0.008 - 0.009 are targets in my ming right now.

I Feel pretty bad about guys who jump too early like 0.007 or higher.

Yeah it can. SegWit just a simple hype and it's not give something is new for the litecoin. basically just try to adopt the bitcoin fail feature. 

i disagree. SegWit is not a failed feature. and it is too soon to call it that. and litecoin SegWit adoption seems to be rising with a good speed. and when it is hopefully activated on litecoin we can see a lot of good things happen for this coin both in the development front and also the price.

and not to mention the big hype, SegWit activation will bring.

this is a good strategy and although i have been buying some in the dips i think i will do this for the rest of my investment in litecoin.

but i do believe price can go much higher than 0.009.... you can see the potential from previous rises.

i'm also expecting the right moment to jump on this again, the right moment for me is with the halving, a long way to go yet for that, but like the last one the halving will bring fresh air and some hype for a good pump to 0.008 btc in value, this value was also the last one achieved with the halving, they repeat the history i think

We will definitely see one more pump before '19's halving.

As i said, i dont expect too much. 0.01 is pretty high right now for litecoin.

And dont speak about usd/ltc pair. That mainly depend of BTC price.

@Sniper44. I am not closing my mind on litecoin gaining 10 times its price today. It is faster and can handle more transactions than bitcoin and if LTC segwit activates the future will be bright for it. The people here who support bitcoin unlimited underestimates the potential and benefits of the Lightning Network. It will be like there was a Ripple network built on top of litecoin and bitcoin. All exchanges can connect to it and make trading and cross border payments very easy for their users.

I'm holding some Litecoin in the event Segwit activates. In the event Segwit doesn't activate I may sell, I can't really see a point in litecoin unless its able to function as a testnet for bitcoin.

it looks like we are over the dips with the lowest price being at $3.61 and some other dips but now we are on the rise following the bitcoin price rise.

litecoin just needs a good news such as the activation of SegWit to explode to the moon and over it.



and the good news is that SegWit activation has gone up to 21.35% which is higher than 17% when i made this topic. i really hope we can see the 75% soon.

IMHO segwit has nothing to offer Litecoin which has not gone to full transaction capacity other than being a test project for the bitcoin network . The segwit hype might work for ltc and result in a temporary bubble but I wouldn't count on it.

litecoin price movement is so depressing sometimes when you are checking the price of LTC versus BTC (meaning 0.00358BTC in OP) but that would only work if bitcoin price was stable. because that could clearly show the movement correctly.

but litecoin price is mostly changing with USD not BTC. that is why it is best if you check the LTC/USD price like the chart in post #9 to see the real price movement and then check the BTC market. that way speculation about litecoin price becomes easier.

in short when price of bitcoin goes from $1000 to $1110 (11%) if LTC/BTC stays the same, that means litecoin also was pumped 11% and that can not happen out of nowhere.
so it goes down keeping the USD value and then rising a bit because of bitcoin.

@talkbitcoin. In the cryptosphere all cryptocoins want to increase their value versus bitcoin. What good is an increase versus fiat for an altcoin? Nothing because if the value does not increase versus bitcoin then I would rather hold bitcoin because there would be less risk and the value rise is the same vs fiat more or less.

I saw someone make the same point in the Lisk announcement thread. He said it was ok for LSK to go down versus bitcoin because it was going up versus fiat. If that were the case what then would be the use to hold LSK?

The problem with most of these Altcoins is that they are priced in both Fiat and BTC, so when Bitcoin rally it dumps but remain almost relatively thesame in Fiat. I think is a wrong assumption to think Altcoins should move up with Bitcoin because BTC ralling. Bitcoin is the only coin in the space that the price is been driven by soilid fundamentals unlike most of these coins that is pump and dump

a very good point, and i should add that when coins like Litecoin are being trading both with Fiat and BTC it creates an arbitrage opportunity when bitcoin price is going up. (it is another type of arbitrage that i forgot the subname.)
that is why these coins keep their USD value up and go down versus bitcoin but their real value which is in USD is the same and will go up.

Then answer to that problem is simple. Only hold Bitcoin if it is on the rise. Since altcoins stay the same in value in fiat, it will go down in value against bitcoin. In these situations like now, you should start looking for future opportunities to trade back to altcoins for the purpose of increasing your bitcoin because it is very irrefutable that bitcoin's rally will stop and altcoins will rise.

I have said before that all altcoiners are really closet bitcoiners because they always trade their altcoins back to bitcoins.

i hate to say i told you so but i am bumping this topic to say i told you so. litecoin has been rising up today and it is headed towards the ATH. currently there is a 75% rise and i am expecting a lot more to come.

now do you think we can see the 0.03BTC or not, i say it is one possibility.

i am guessing all the profit of other pumps is now being injected into litecoin which is why i am expecting a Massive RISE.
