Richard Branson of the Virgin Group is the first name that came in my mind when I read the thread title. There was an interview where he said that Bitcoin is working. Some of his businesses are accepting Bitcoin payments I think. He also organized an invite only summit on his island, yes his own island, and many who were invited where dubbed the Bitcoin Illuminati.

Microsoft still accept bitcoin payments http://www.cnbc.com/2016/03/14/microsoft-stops-accepting-bitcoin-on-windows-10.html

Also there are many big companies that have already started accepting bitcoins. Some of the big names include Dell, Overstock and newegg.

This http://www.coindesk.com/information/what-can-you-buy-with-bitcoins/ can be good article to find out which big merchants/companies accept bitcoin as payment method.

Microsoft US website integrated bitcoin since 2014, it is old news, not "will". You lack of source, why did you hear those rumors?

Big companies like Fiverr and Steam were also accepting bitcoins, but fiverr removed that feature recently.
I don`t have fiverr or Steam accounts ,so i can`t be sure about this.
I`m curious for what Mercedes and Tesla will accept bitcoin payments?
I would like to buy a brand new car with my bitcoins in the future. Grin

I know Microsoft, Dell, Virgin airline I have not confirmed Tesla but I read it somewhere they are going to start accepting Bitcoin. There is no way they can ignore Bitcoin forever and one thing I know about these guys is they don't want to be a latecomer to something that is likely to revolutionize the world

Actually tesla haven't started accepting bitcoin for purchase of new car but found that few auto dealer accept bitcoin for purchase of used car including tesla cars http://newatlas.com/tesla-model-s-bought-using-bitcoins/30048/ (Old story back to 2013)

There is also a nice story about a guy who have preordered a tesla car with bitcoin but it was not actually paid in bitcoin. He have used bitcoin debit card for this http://www.coindesk.com/tesla-model-3-bitcoin/

Dell and microsoft are big names and they are accepting bitcoin from years.

If you are referring to bitcoin then I would say Dell has started accepting bitcoin yet again.
Just check their website there is a whole entire page dedicated to it now with step by step instruction on how to buy all computer needs and other stuff on their site using bitcoin. But they are using coinbase for accepting the payments. Undecided
So that could be a turn off for most people here with the sudden retraction for using them with the snooping around in their customer accounts by federal bureau of investigations in the states. They are after all based there.
Now if it is about the blockchain technology that is different.
Banks are the ones who are investing heavily into trying to come up with a way to make their own version of bitcoin so to offer it as an option to their clients to their banks. This is being done as we speak.  Lips sealed

There are a few big companies that accept Bitcoin, however this is not the same as fully using it. Most of the companies let you pay in Bitcoin and then immediately exchange it for Bitcoin. Most of the time they use a 3rd party for that. I wonder what would happen if i return something? Would i get my money back in Bitcoin or Fiat?

That is really better news than just accepting Bitcoin as payment. Payment processors are the infrastructure that bridges Bitcoin to fiat and fiat payments. When a big company like Mercedes wants to get in on Bitcoin thru a business that is fundamental to its economy then we should expect brighter days ahead.

These are all good news but this benefits more the rich than the common masses. I am not against any of these companies, as I also dream of one day driving home a brand new spanking Mercedes Benz fresh from the show room. But what I would want to see more are those small local shops that cater to more people who are in the average or lower income bracket. I think everybody will agree with me that if bitcoin can really tap into these mass markets, the better it will be for everyone involved.

It's my first time hearing this but I will delve deep into this and find out more information but it's a great news for us all as Bitcoin is gaining world wide acceptance so I wouldn't be surprised if there are other multinational companies integrating Bitcoin into their setup.

Microsoft has been accepting bitcoin for a very long time, you can top up your Microsoft account with bitcoin. here is the information: https://commerce.microsoft.com/PaymentHub/Help/Right?helppagename=CSV_BitcoinHowTo.htm

but it is something that was missed by many (me included) for some reason, and you never hear about it!
