Since so many people are blocking signatures, advertisements are much harder to get people to view and click on. I have come up to a solution to this. Instead of using the signature field, spammers could include the advertisement in their post. It could go above/below the content of the post. Thoughts? This may or may not be satire. Please don't -rep.

That wouldn't be allowed as its against the rules. Signatures are only allowed in your signature space.

IIRC a few people have tried that in the past and have been promptly banned for doing so.

Maybe we should try to encourge the use of signatures to promote members own sites, Things like domains for sale, Bitcoin blogs, or Bitcoin purchases wanted. It would be easy to monitor, just don'a allow affiliate links references.

Yeah that's just what is the downside of this amazing forum, there are a hell lot of signature shits. Most of the time the signatures take more space than actual content, mostly because of the signature campaigns Exactly, users should be allowed to promote only their websites etc and not a horde of affiliate links...

snip horde of affiliate links...
Most campaigns discourage use of affiliate links in the campaigns that they are managing. To op: advertising in thei posts will result to more spams, afaik that's why it is prohibited to advertise in post beause people will go every where to post what they are advertising, (make multiple threads, post offtopic ) just to mention their service.

These would be classic examples of what is considered "signature outside the signature area". I have reported him a couple of times, but some of his posts still violate rules. Latest violation - less than 12 hours ago. If it would be without monthly reset,it would be perfect.
Hi Sosaso75, Thank you very much for your suggestion Currently, the VIP Rewards program is a monthly program but we will look into it and consider changing it in the future. All the Best, Michelle https://www.DirectBet.eu

I agree with this. Making signatures smaller ( the size full members are allowed to have) for all ranks would make the forum look less like a casino. I understand bright colours below every post can be annoying to some people. Current signatures take a lot of space and limit the number of posts you can fit on screen without scrolling.

There is another option "ignore" or report them don't actually create a thread to do those easy things.

Aren't these against the forum rules? I have reported this user multiple times, but he still seems to be continuing.

Sorry I didn't get what you mean but if ads are displayed in posts too, that will make forum useless and it will turn into a classified ads site

The thing is those quotes are directly relevant to the thread. The addition of the URL itself I wouldn't call advertising as the person posting is a representative of that site. The rest is relevant 'news' to the thread whether you like it or not. AFAIK there are very rare cases where advertising is allowed on threads, or at least there used to be. Threads which collate large amounts of information and weren't expressly created just to advertise seem to be where those advertisements mainly popped up, but they were never very successful.
