Hi,

I’ve been looking for a list of banks around the world that are friendly to bitcoin, and I can’t find one that is up to date. The ones that I find are older than two years. In bitcoin time, two years is quite a long time.

My humble request to you; if you know a bank that is friendly to bitcoin startups and users please share it below.

I think this information will be very helpful for Startups and companies looking to engage in this new technology.

Thanks in advance

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

You didn't mention the country so It's hard to say. but there is Fidor bank which is super bitcoin friendly. I know they partnered with Kraken as well at some point . A simple googling could make you find one or two more but there is no real compiled list of friendly banks , I guess you will never know unless you try them.

I guess we can only expect a so-called "friendly" bank to continue support transfer of fiat to exchange's bank accounts. Otherwise, I don't think any is accepting bitcoin per se... I really hope some bank will have bitcoin deposit account soon- best to come with deposit interest  Grin!

Finding a bank with bitcoin support is not a big deal. Now without regulation more bitcoin trading is supported by most of the banks. Recently in Australia a bank was started which completely function on bitcoin. By the years to come we can see more such banks.

banks aren't known to be friendly towards bitcoin, because mainly bitcoin is their competition and they can not make money from it either because they are not offering any services for it or they are prohibited by law to enter the bitcoin market.
as a user they may not be harsh towards you if for example you use the bank to deposit money on an exchange and buy bitcoin with it. although your account may be flagged if you deposit a large amount for money laundering.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

In what way, in my country I have not felt that, I would only say that banks are bitcoin friendly when they accept bitcoin as a form of deposits and they will consider it as a payment system to pay our bills or anything related to that. Maybe in big countries where bitcoin is more popular, there's a chance that there will be a certain bank that fits on what you are looking.

Yep, it's Coins.ph (or Rebit I think and other services) in the Philippines, but I think it operates more as a separate entity partnering with several banks in order to use their "bank services". Don't know how they got those deals, maybe it has to do with the fees, but naturally I think banks would be against Bitcoin since it kind of allows people to side-step them unless they get something really big out of it. (with the recent news of legitimization in the Philippines, it just affirms more of the acceptance of Bitcoin in the macro but I don't think it means banks will have to)

I don't have a list of it and there's no confirmation about the news last year about Switzerland's Central Bank about adoption of bitcoin.

IF that will happen or will be implemented on this year, maybe you can consider that a bitcoin bank or bank that is friendly to bitcoin.

But as of now, there's none any updates for it.

This is true but the most efficient on it is the fact that we can cash out without having bank account through security bank. It doesn't requires a long span of hours to deposit and cash out our money. This what I use more often than cashing out in other banks. Though having options on what bank is a plus.

I know one bitcoin friendly bank - it's Mistertango:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1709715.0.
You can open account in this bank online. Mistertango is offering free SEPA transfers and most important thing - they are connected with bitcoin exchange Misterbtc.

The bank of Switzerland is accepting bitcoins as a form of payment for government services but there was no mentioned of banks accepting bitcoins. It is still too early for banks to accept bitcoins and some banks are already planning to create a centralized digital currency of their own. But sooner when the masses have already adopted bitcoin then the banks will be left with no choice but to accept bitcoins.

have no idea about that. If I'm not mistaken, bitcoin is here as a competitor of banks. and their systems are different each other. so I don't really get it how banks be friendly to bitcoin. probably because I live in a small country and I find no bank is friendly to bitcoin, so I do not know such thing.

I've read that First Dedicated ‘Bitcoin Bank’ Opens In Vienna, Austria. What is likely the world’s first dedicated Bitcoin bank has opened in the heart of the Austrian capital Vienna. It is designed to make buying and selling Bitcoin easier and safer than other in-person options such as Localbitcoins meetings.

Actually it is because Coins.ph can have an account that can send money to those certain banks. One is Security Bank which is for Electronic transaction but still I doubt if those banks "do know" that it is from bitcoin they are dealing with. It is just that Security bank is giving us an account and a password which is from their own.
So still it is Coins.ph that is like buying bitcoin from us in a cheaper way when we exchange it to fiat. But still good observation my friend.

Bitcoin friendly bank? I don't know any. I suppose you think about bank that is willing to do business with Bitcoins and offer their services for clients in Bitcoins. There were some rumors such banks will appear and that they actualy exist, even in Europe, but so far without any proof. Maybe in the future.

My humble request to you; if you know a bank that is friendly to bitcoin startups and users please share it below.
If you are looking for banks to handle financial transaction of your bitcoin related startups than i don't think there will be any problem with any of the traditional bank as they may treat you just like any other startups. But if you are looking for crowdfunding your project with bitcoins/alts than look at this one https://bnktothefuture.com/

I am from India, and here in our local exchange we can transfer money from our local bank to the local exchange and do bitcoin trading and same we can withdraw the fiat currency after sold the bitcoins. So this is the procedure for purchasing bitcoins through fiat currency through our local banks.
