I do not want this to be racial but I have to say I have not heard of a leftist jew before.

My bet for best picture is Arrival. It is my favorite movie for this year and I recommend everyone to watch it. The director is also my bet as best director. He also directed 1 of the best movies the other year, Sicario. I will also bet for Fences.

I made an Oscar thread with odds from 1XBit but the changed the format of the betting so do not bother going there. I will lock the thread.

It is pretty hard to wage a bet against a fixed outcome .Could you care to explain what is anti Trump you are mentioning here.
Lets be honest i have won my last Oscar bet for the best actor because it was obvious Leonardo DiCaprio will win.
I think the best Picture would go to La La Land and all the movies are good but look for Moonlight to get some appreciation and some awards .

Why do people bet on Hidden Figures as best picture? I'm absolutely positive La la land will be the one. Oscar academy always nominates some segregation-theme film but it never gave Oscar to one. Hidden Figures is a great film, I admit it, but I think it is not worth best picture. The nominees are more political than the last years, no doubt. And yet I think it's still not that political. As for the screenplay, I think Lobster will win, because this film is extremely deep, I', surprised it's not nominated for best picture.
And now that I started thinking about betting, why isn't Hidden figures not on the list on directbet when people in this thread believe it will win?

Well you choose the heavy favorites, I'm not going with that kind of pick as I do not see any value for my money. Really funny and confusing things even at the Oscar ceremony .They first announced La La Land won the Oscar for the best movie and when they are in the stage collecting the awards they changed that and said Moonlight won the award . Either way i expected Moonlight to win the Oscar as it was the best movie without a doubt but La La Land was getting all the push and i am glad Moonlight won the award for the best movie.

The odds were pretty low on all the winning odds apart from the best actor and the best movie .Those who selected Moonlight won big money and Casey Affleck was having a good odds of 1.82 and it was also a good bet for those who selected that but i thought he might get rejected because of the sexual harassment allegations he was facing. The rest of the cards was pretty easy.

Yeah, me too. Also I love the movie myself. Downloaded it from The Pirate Bay just yesterday and watched it almost right before the ceremony started. Great story and great performance.
