I have a 6950.  I am getting 263 mhash out of it using GUIMiner.

I am not sure what to put in the 'extra flags' area to get me more mhash.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

--- update

I did this ... -v -f2 -w64 -r5

And now getting 324 mhash.  Is that about normal?

found this elsehwre on the forum:

By the way, in case anyone else has the same question as I did, I just added the flags -v -w128 -f2 to an OpenCL miner in GUIminer. Increased to 340 Mh/s, took about 3 seconds.

Try changing that -w64 to -w128 and see how it does for you.

I'm running a 6950 and it hashes at 319 mh/s. I use guiminer with the -v -w 256 option in it. If you're getting 324 then I'd say your settings are about right.

Tried that and no change ... I think I will take 325 as good.

This is an old card I been thinking about mining on forever.  Soon as I saw BTC is now 100 dollars per coin ... why not mine with it.

Just be carefull about power usage, you don't want to have an insane power bill at the end of the month...

Yeah I have been warned about that. I have been told as long as BTC stays over 35 range, GPU mining is still profitable.

Can anyone co sign that or confirm that?

I did some math and it sounds about right.\

But there are so many different power usages for each card I am learning from that mining comparison wiki page.

Very interesting page.

Makes me want to buy 7970s

Wrong. 2 factors determine the profitability: 1) Increasing difficulty; 2) Value of 1 bitcoin.
Now you might want to consider more difficulty in 1 week (about 11mil), then you earn even less with GPU's.
Also don't worry too much about the power bill, at the time you should be able to pay it off.

My 6670 uses only 140W at load, so using this 24/7 for a week won't even be in 5$ range.
Lets say you're using 400W, at 0.09kWh/$ (depends where u live), running 24/7 for a month would only equal 26$ in electricity bills.

Thank you very much for the info Smiley

This is so fun already, I am searching for ways to get more cards now.
