Hi,

I am new to this forum but thought I'd give it a go. I need some help trying to solve a problem I am having with a transaction.

So, about 2 days ago I made a transaction which has now been stuck as 'unconfirmed' in my Electrum-wallet since. Sometimes when I restart Electrum will say that it has 'unconfirmed parent' (even though the previous (incoming) transaction has >200 confirmations) and sometimes it will be gone as if the coins are back in my wallet. In the latter scenario I am unable to use the coins and Electrum throws a 'mem-pool conflict' error.

Futhermore, when checking the transaction online here https://www.chain.so/tx/BTC/400a765cf76cddbefe1edde0c9d510f930d5727fadf7539bc7ac94b586a0668c it tells me it has 0% 'confidence' the tx will be confirmed.

I sent it with:

Sent Value   0.05058394
Fee   0.00009600

which was automatically set by Electrum.

Can I somehow cancle the tx and create a new one? I would rather not have to wait weeks for this to complete.

I tried the 'fee-booster' mentioned here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1506632.0 , but that did not seem to do anything for me. When I tried importing the tx into my Electrum it said 'unrelated to this wallet' and I could not sign it. Attempting to sign it with console gave me the same hex as input.

Thanks for any help!

Interesting. Thanks. However I cant add to https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ as it seems to be full atm.

Doubble sending would be an option, but for this I am not sure how to 'send from a different node' ? What exactly does that mean? I cant send anything from my Electrum since the coins are stuck in limbo.

Basically, if you run the core wallet, you cannot broadcast the double spending transaction from your own wallet. I don't think this will be an issue with electrum tough.

I'll try to add a double spending tutorial to my website pretty soon. You can potentially re-try viabtc every couple of hours. When they have mined a block, they'll probably allow new transaction requests for the new block they're working on. So you should have a chance of getting your tx in the viabtc queue every couple of hours.

That would be great, thanks! I found a youtube-video but it was rather confusing to me since the example was using a sort of 'spoofed' wallet so I did not follow. Always prefered text-tutorials to youtube ones.

I retried the speed-up and it gave me: Acceleration succeeded

So I guess now it should be a little faster.

One last question: is there anyway to see if there is something wrong with my transaction? Like if its broken/trying to send to an incorrect address/been compromised in any way?

Thank you again!

And behold! Minutes later it has 3 confirmations,

Thanks a lot! The accelerator worked wonders!  Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

If you wanted to know what was wrong with this transaction, basically the fee was too low and miners prioritized other tx to include in a block instead of yours. You can check the recommended fee at Bitcoin fees  .

As for sending to a wrong address, you should always double-check because as long as the address fits the bitcoin protocol even if its not 'created'/owned by someone yet it will be sent. Haven't heard of a 'compromised' transaction though, you possibly meant the 51% miner rule thing which is not something to be worried of(yet ... JK)
