We will never get Blockstream to come to their senses with argument. The debate has gone on for two years. Continuing the impasse does further damage to the network.
It is now time to bite the bullet and fork Bitcoin. Some losses will occur in the early days, but two strong systems will rise from the ashes soon enough.
Let's get the BU people together and set a plan to initiate the fork now.
We will never convince Blockstream into consensus.

This is exactly the inverse of what we must do. If nothing happened for a long, that is good news, since no one completely crazy did something bad to this day.

You can never convince anyone with a brain and with a vision to hold long term to put BUcoin team on charge.
Shush! The idea is to get the BU people to fork off...

Instead of forkageddon, why don't they just create an alt in a similar fashion to how Clams were created? Take a snapshot of every balance, make it redeemable with the private key, start the mining at the same moment. They're in full control from the off and free to do whatever they wish.
I suppose that's too straightforward though and doesn't allow for adolescent triumphalism.

funny part is pereira is quoting andreas from LAST YEAR. before segwit was even a release candidate. LOL he might as well be quoting someone from 1930's saying flying cars first then travel to the moon second

Yes, please! OK - we've got about the same hash power as Blockstream now. We are calling our fork 'Bitcoin'. Yours is called 'Blockstream Bitcoin'

I saw a lot of debate on the news lately with the scaling of Bitcoin. What I think is about time to risk the implementation and see what happen with the proposed solution provided by the community. With Segwit or Bitcoin Unlimited, go go go

I would highly recommend you "big blockers" to first test the Bitcoin Unlimited code in various attack simulations for at least 6 months before you plan a fork. There are lots of possible attack and "excessive influence for miner cartels" scenarios.
I had sympathy for Classic (also because of its Flexible Transactions feature which I don't know why it isn't present in BU) but BU seems really too risky to me. So if you fork, don't cry if something goes wrong.

this prove that they have the intention to increase it later right? if there will be an increase anyway and thus an hard fork to 2mb/4mb/8mb or whatever, why you can't do it now? miners don't agree on LN(centralization) and segwit otherwise we would already reached the consensus, but they agree on 2MB at least, this can create more room for transaction, while another solution will come this solution would be the same that would come anyway after the first hardfork and after activation of segwit

BTC core will never do the blocksize increase first, because they know NO ONE WANTS SEGWIT! BTC Core has failed the community and should be FIRED from BTC development FOREVER! Hire some Devs that care about BTC and are not trying a Centralized Takeover by Banking Interest with Segwit & LN!

I think forking bitcoin would be a global extinction event for all crypto currencies. The amount of people that this would scare away could not be regained in years. And by that time economy has lost its interest in bitcoin everywhere. Because bitcoin is the main currency the altcoins are traded against, it would drag them down with it.

It's starting to look that's the way forward, Bitcoin Blockstream and Bitcoin Unlimited running in different chains and everyone gets what they want.

WHY ? I looked at the Twitter link if that was what you meant and didn't see why. Just that he agreed with me when i said all along that Ethereum is no rival to Bitcoin.
