I made a transaction from electrum a few days ago, and I accidentally sent it before the funds being sent had been confirmed. Now the bitcoin block reads: Transaction rejected by our node. Reason: Transaction was previously accepted but has been pruned from our database. Can I cancel this transaction and retry? Do I have any options other than to wait and see what happens? It currently states "unconfirmed" in my wallet.

Probably the best option is to resend it once there are enough confirmations on the previous transactions. The transaction shouldn't be rejected again uness the transaction into the address have also not yet been confirmed. It my also be useful to post the wallet address in order to determine if there is any other problems with it being sent.

Thanks JackG. How do I resend the transaction? I sent everything I have in my wallet. When I attempt to send it reads "Not enough funds."
Would my wallet address be the transaction input address?

Yes. Does it still list a transaction as "unconfirmed transaction" If so, you'll have to right click it and get a way to remove it (normally, it's right click and "abandon transaction" clicking on the unconfirmed transaction).

BTW: The received transaction was confirmed a minute after I made the attempt to send.
I am using a Mac. Right clicking in Electrum gives three options: Copy Date, Details, and View on Block explorer.

How many confirmations did it have? If it's just 1 confirmation then it still won't send. It'll take a few confirmations to be accepted by the block. it appears to have 296 confirmations.
What about when the transaction was sent? Not now hoe many transactions.

You could always ask in the electurm sub-forum to see if anyone can helpy you cancel the transaction or run a "double spend" on it so it isn't rejected by the node in the same way as a it was before.
Otherwise you could wait about 72 hours for it to stop being broadcast and resend the transaction after that. Or you could sweep the private keys (although that'll lose some of the coins)...

Sorry for my extremely lack of knowledge on bit and this forum, but where is the electrum sub-forum?
I think it has been 72 hrs. How can I resend it?
Can you explain sweep the private keys?

Basically to sweep a private key is used mainly for wallets that you store in a QR code but it works similarly for bitcoin. You go to wallet, private keys, export and a window will appear once you input your password and once it has finished loading. It'll be represented in the format address1, privatekey1, address2, privatekey2... You would merely copy the private key relating to your address (but DO NOT SHARE THIS). Generate a new wallet. Go to the same, wallet, private keys but instead of exporting, you want to "SWEEP" the address and the coins should be in there (a slight transaction fee is deducted though). Electrum sub-forum is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=98.0

I attempted to sweep it to a new wallet, but when I pushed broadcast it replied, "The transaction was rejected by the network rules," or something along those lines. It does not seem to be allowing it.
Will the transaction cancel and return to my wallet over time?

It should be returned at some point. If it doesn't come back in about five days. Wait until I come back online and I'll try to sweep it for you (but don't publicaly post the private key anywhere) or you could get a trusted escrow here to try and do it in order to recover your funs. Someone might reply if you opened a topic on the electrum section.
