Those links would give you the general idea about hardware's but nowadays only "ASIC Mining" is being used (although it's not profitable for everyone, due to electricity rates).

Best technique in mining is to be as efficient as you can while doing it (although majority don't fall on the scale to even earn any profit nowadays due to electricity rates / rise in difficulty and the needed energy to power those ASIC mining rigs).
Note: Calculate first (everything), before you try it.
